State Theater in Detroit?

he messed up OMA the one time i saw him. It was cause of some kid though. He put the mic up to the punk and he didn't know the words so that totally threw raine off. It was kinda funny..and it kinda pissed me off at the same time. How could you not know the words to OMA?

My bad ... for the 2nd time. Sorry if you get that alot and if it really bugs you and gets on your nerves.

Anyhoo I thought I woudl share the ltter I sent to steve with BETHANY and the rest of you. I thought this response to the first letter was kinda odd. You'll see what I'm talking about:

Steve,
First off your doing great work, you absolutely rock!

I have a follow-up question on a previous post:
-------------------
Tiffany: What is your favorite OLP song to play? What is your personal favorite OLP song?

Hey Tiffany. My favorite OLP song to play would probably be "Bring Back the Sun", or "Clumsy". My personal favorite OLP song, if I had to pick one,........................I guess I would have to go with "Are You Sad".
-------------------

Why are those your favorites? There isn't much guitar to those songs as compared to "All for you" even after 100 plays I still get chills down my spine on that opening riff. Speaking of chills down mine spine, your solo on "Birdman" in Detroit: AMAZING!

What sets "Bring Back the Sun" and "Clumsy" apart from those?

Thanks allot and keep up the great work!

you were the crazy person passing out the lyrics to iah before the show, if i remember correctly

that gives me an idea for the ac show.

daminit its "is anybody alone. is anybody painting fears on bedrooms that save us from today"

umm no its "is anybody home....."

doh

I gave out about 100 copies of the lyrics to the whole song. BTW, it is (2nd verse)
Hey is anybody home, has anybody wasted tears
and hey is ANYBODY LONE, HAS ANYBODY PAINTED FEAR ON BEDROOM WALLS THAT SAVE US FROM OUR.(SOULS), hey is anybody home, anybody wasted tears on loneliness that everyone becomes when they're not all right.

OLPFan420 wrote:You can't do the lyrics to the entire song, because that would take quite a bit of posterboard, or you'd have to write incredibly small. Just do the IAH? chorus. Talk to Raine after the show and tell him about it, he'll be flattered.

We a;ll ready told Raine we handed out lyrics to the song. he laughed because he knows it won't help. That song has taken on a whole meaning. It has been sung wrong since they have been playing it liv.e One of those mysteries I guess. That is why when we are in front we drown out everyone else with the right lyrics.

AREYOUSAD--- I think I still have the lyric sheets I had

It was so scary at the Rochester show though. Everyone got the lyrics right, and I was totally shocked. Some guy from the CC told Raine about it and he just laughed. Bernadette (the girl who wrote the sign) even had Jeremy proofread it and correct a mistake she made. It was classic.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

OLP can always depend on the hardcore fans to make sure EVERYONE gets the words right. I think the CM should invest in a projector. We can run it on a screen at the side and the lyrics will scroll up as the band sings.

jacqui steal one from your school and bring it to the ac show. That would actually look pretty cool and we wouldnt have to see Raine with that "they are fucking up my song" face.

So I'm going though my vast OLP collection burning songs for friends and such to prepare them for the upcomming album and I come upon this show again.

God damn this concert was amazing!!
I mean ... god damn .. words ... useless .. shivers ... chills ... spine ... etc

I'm counting on all you Detroiters to let me know the minute any rumor comes out about OLP back in Detroit.

But I dunno, is it possible? It it possible to top this performance?
Could this be best OLP concert ever?

... Or is the best yet to come??

To quote local favorite Watershed: "I gotta feeling, the best is yet to come!"
