I'm sure they could rival Cho/Squid. (kidding...kidding...)

I've recently been going through some HP message boards and the phrase "It reads like a bad fanfic" has come up so many times that it should be banned from the internet. These people get way too attached... sheesh. I mean, this is the book that they got so obsessed with that they actually ended up hating it.

for some reason everyone thought it was too much of a fanfic. i thought the same thing for a while (not that it was bad though, i really don't care for ships) but in the sense that it did read like a fanfic

I'm pretty sure that J.K. Rowling is in fact the rightful author, and not a fan. Her style for the "shipping" was a little different than usual though. I believe at one point she said the monster inside harry was doing to conga?

See I'm thinking Voldemort is gonna go after Ginny and the others anyway. He knows they're close to him, so it doesn't matter what he does.

No, I keep thinking about it too. Really, HOW he died is just pissing me off more and more every day.

I really thought this was the most well written book of them all. It's just like OLP. The more attached people get, the more people you will disappoint in the long run. Even though I didn't like it because I loved the characters, it was still the second best book in the series if you ask me.

what's the first, in your opinion?

Has anyone been thinking about what's going to happen to Hogwarts? I read somewhere that JK said there won't be any important new characters in book 7. So how are they going to fill up the teaching spots?
If McGonagall is Headmistriss now then the transfiguration spot is open. Obviously Snape won't come back to teach DADA so that spot is open. No word yet on whether Slug will still teach potions next year.
On top of that the head of house for Gryffindor and Slytherin are open. If Slug stays he'll probably take the Slytherin spot. Hagrid was in Gryffindor but I don't know if McGonagall will make him Head of their House or not.

But if Harry doesn't go back to Hogwarts....will we even find out?

I think McGonagall could still be head of house if she wanted to. The might fill up the teaching spots, but the new characters not be important. Or the characters might be people we already know. You never know, they might hire Tonks!

I'm trying decide whether it's the fifth or the fourth. Probably the fourth though. I love that book.

We've probably found a horcrux if we've reread the books. I say it's the locket.

Also, I've wondered, Dumbledore said Voldemort was going to use harry for the last horcrux, and we all know what happened there. But he still says there's four left.

dumbledore said that voldemort would make the last horcrux with harry's death, not that he would make harry the horcrux. remember that you need to kill a person to make a horcrux.

Dumbledore's guesses are never very far wide of the mark.

So how could he be so very wrong on Snape!?

After reading that, I stand by my theory. Loosely...anyhow.

MA: Was there anyone else present in Godric’s Hollow the night Harry’s parents were killed?

JKR: No comment.

[All laugh.]

JKR: I’m sorry!

That's what I meant. I apoligize that I didn't word it properly. He was going to kill Harry to make the horcrux, but then he "died" so how could there still be four left?

oh okay. i didn't understand, my mistake.

voldemort was going to use harry to make the seventh horcrux though. he already had six made. the ring and the diary are gone, so there are only four left now.

But, Harry COULD be the horcrux, right? Yes, it went wrong. But perhaps it went wrong in MAKING him one.

You know, I just don't like that theory, I don't think it's right. But it's interesting.

It makes no sense that trying to make Harry into a Horcrux would kill Voldemort.

He didn't already have six made at that point, actually. I just reread that page, he made the sixth horcrux in the beginning of the fourth book when he killed the gardener.
