HW has gotten me all jacked up for this album, so I started listening to all the youtube vids they've put out. "Ihear you calling" gets me pumped up I really hope that makes the album....that and "warnings" sound great

That was actually a really decent interview.

A "Holy shit" guitar solo in 'If this is It?' Hell yeah.

Fight the Good Fight won't be on the album.

And they finished the last song.

Great interview. Love that Raine said that "Heavyweight" is the "safest" song on the album.

There was also in the working version...and there was also some falsetto....i'm happy that "If This Is It" can be an amazing song!!

He also mentioned possibly getting out there for a group of fans to hear/test before it'released to the public ...

I must have missed him saying that, sign me up! But, why would they do that? I mean seems a bit unusual to "test" a record. They do that with movies when they aren't sure of the product and want to make changes...I can't imagine the guys would make changes if they love this record so much, so what's the point? Either way, I would loooove to hear it asap :D

Probably it's not a test...but an anticipation to some fans!! Test it's the wrong word! :)

yeah, sorry... not test... just get it out there to fans and radio stations before it's released... like playing a private show maybe?

Heavy weight is one of 9 or 10 songs on the new album. I really hope its not just 9 tracks... unless they pull a RUSH for one of their songs.

I was dreaming a record with 14 songs :(

According to Raine in this interview he told that the album will be out in the next few months...probably in March!

OK, as some sort of promotion or fan exclusive, that makes much more sense and makes me very happy :) Thanks for clearing that up bree.

They did the same with a pre-release "listening party" for fans back when Spiritual Machines was coming out if I recall correctly.

And like the rest, sign me up!

It might be 10 songs, but remember based on some of the music we have heard it could average out to longer tracks

If it is just 10 songs, I really really hope they finish up a few of the others and find a way to release them!

I really like the bands repeated comparison of this new album to SM. SM was my favorite album, and that gets me really stoked. I remember the band compared BB to Naveed., which i would never personally do. I think they ended up saying BB is like naveed, in that its a consistent sound throughout the album... but i find the statement to be a bit misleading. Its really hard to know exactly what they mean when they say that Knives(?) is like SM... but, i guess it means that they're being experimental again, and have kinda gone back to the SM mind frame in their writing style.

Its really weird to me... the band matured so much from naveed to 2000, produced such a unique album (SM), then completely turned around and changed direction, sound, and style (gravity)... i believe its understood that this change is why they split ways with mike (i assumed he didn't like the direction they were going, and they didn't like his insistence on producing more like what they already had), and then... they eventually came back to where they were when mike split... another artistic unique album. God, i wish i could get into these guys heads some times to figure out what the hell they're thinking.

One could argue, I suppose, that they wouldn't have gotten back to this point without Steve, but its just such a strange 10 year "circle" (I use this term lightly, because they're not exactly where they were ten years ago... but I don't really know how to express the thought any better).

A pre-release listening party for fans would be awesome. I'm down with that. Not feeling 'Knives' as an album title though. Doesn't feel quite right. Things have a way of evolving though so I'm sure more names will be kicked around.
