I'm in a good mood, for once. Even after hours of people giving me $1.50 tip. People just...don't get it.

I gave a $1.50 tip last night when me and my gf went out for dessert. the meal cost us 18.50 and she charged me for a flavour shot in my steamer. They never charge me for it, so I took it out of her tip. :D I just left a 20 and left. What a nice guy I am eh? Usually I'm a good tipper. I leave between 15% and 25% depending on how much my meal was.

I had a solo last night in my school concert thing, and I choked on the first line of the chorus. I think I must have breathed in some dust or something. It was all ". . .ircle of Life!"

Nobody seemed to notice, or they were too busy being nice and all that.

don't go back to places where you give the waiter/waitress a bad tip. they remember those kind of people and do unpleasant things to your food.

oaihwetoiawhetr. i haaaaaaate tipping. i think tipping is meant for a well done job. i only tip if the waiter did a job that exceeded his/her basic duties. i don't think it's right for servers to expect a tip no matter what. if their job performance wasn't anything special, no tip.

first off it's downtown toronto... odd of them remember you are pretty slim considering they see thousands of people every day... Second it was just a piece of cake. If they try and do anything to it I'm pretty sure I'll be able to tell.

please don't tell me you spent 18.50 on a piece of cake and two coffees.

i work in a busy retail area, and i totally recognize people who have come into my store more than once.

First of all, servers don't make ANY money if you don't tip them. The food doesn't fly out to you, and they only get paid enough to get about $10/week. So, it goes with the territory if you go out to eat. Second, I'd remember you as a crappy tipper and I wouldn't try at all to do well the next time you were around. Plus, I'd tell all of the other servers. I wouldn't do anything to your food though... Also, if the food sucks or it takes a long time, it's the cooks fault, not the servers'.

No, we've had problems with this place before. Last time we were there we waited an hour just to be served our pieces of cake and then another hour to get our bill...

It was two pieces of cake and two steamers and it came to 18.50. Pretty normal price I'd say. And I'm willing to bet she doesn't recognize us cause she hasn't paid enough attention to us in the past to even know what we look like. lol

Frankly I don't care. If I get poor service or charged extra for things I don't give a good tip. You do the work I give a great tip. plain and simple

I think that's fair. As long as you try to realize when it's the server's fault, or the cooks' fault.

Also, it's probably restaurant policy to charge extra, not the servers. I'm sure she doesn't make up the prices. It's possible the server before just forgot to do it.

Oh ya I definitely understand when it's the vook's fault. But this is a place where they serve cake that's sitting i behind glass... all they have to do is slice it lol.

there's more action in here over servers and waitstaff then there's been in the political threads in months
