Computer Questions
yes, the processor has to be compatible with the motherboard. How olds your computer, and what type of processor do you have? I dont know much about AMD, but if you have a Celeron you could easily over clock it to be much better. If you have a Pentium 1 based computer....chances are its not worth upgraded. If your motherboard is Pentium 2 based you are looking at a max speed of 500-550mhz.
I cant imagine a Pentium 3-4 being to slow for you. But let us know a little more about your system and we might be able to help.
I also have a garage full of old parts so i might even be able to mail you free upgrades

If your a pentium 3 based motherboard you could most likely easily upgrade to about 1ghz or so. Your best bet though, if you dont know much about computers is to take it into the shop. Messing with CPU's and upgrading can be tricky busness.

All i can get you is a 32mb stick. But if you really need ram i could probably get some from my job at reBoot North.

depends how big you go...itle be cheap though...i work in a non-profit organization. The only hitch is everything is used...but ram generally lasts a life time...
So yah, tell me what you want and next tuesday when i go in i will see if i can get it for free or what my price would be. I could then send it off to you
