Post by PeaceEleven »

Hotel hunt is never too fun....I guess it can take several days before finding "the One" ... but I am sure it is worth it :P

nikki4982 wrote:BUT! It seems a bunch of our friends have already been to the Primrose, according to Sand. He was too drunk to remember what it was like though. :freak: *shakes fist at Sand* Anyway, he says Bethany was one of said people... so, Bethany, is it nice? Or should we continue our search? :freak: Please tell me it's nice. Please. :crying:

Sand was apparently REALLY drunk. He now realizes it was a different hotel. :freak:

Regardless, I looked into the hotel a little more, and I came up with an idea to save us some money. The place has some rooms with the following:

1 King, 1 Double, 2nd Bed Sofabed

We could do 4 people in the king (), 2 people in the double, and 2 people on the sofabed.

It looks like you can't reserve those big rooms from Expedia or any of the sites like that, but on the official Best Western site, it'll add up to less than 2 smaller rooms on Expedia anyway. With 6 of us, it'll be about $43 (US) a person. If more end up coming, some will have to sleep on the floor (I think we'll live :P), but it'll only get cheaper. Plus, everyone staying in one room will be much more fun anyway.

Oh yeah, and I'm almost positive Monkey's a AAA member, so that'll down the price to $40 (US) a person, with the discount. I'm gonna call and ask him if he is or not in a few hours, so I'll report back then.

So... has anyone stayed at the Best Western Primrose Hotel Downtown? If so, please tell us what it was like.

Oh, and here's the hotel's site:

We stayed at a Best Western hotel in Toronto a couple of years ago, let me check my pen collection (I always steal them from hotels :))...

Nope, it was the Roehampton. That's further from the city centre, so not as much fun I would think. I don't remember much from it, but Best Western is usually pretty good.

that hotel is about a 10 minute walk from my school
i don't really remember ever seeing it but if you would like me to go check it out i could.

and yes that area is full of transvestites but i wouldn’t be too worried about that. it'll just be funny if anything

oh and rob what do you mean by midtown? where exactly would that be?

why is it full of transvestites???

i dont know where midtown exactly is, there seems to be hotels in downtown and midtown and it seems like midtown hotels are in a more ritzy trendy area. For that reason I am guessing it is better.

anyone know if there are bars and resturants around the area where we are staying???

 Yeah, apparently there are plenty around there. At least according to all the stuff I stumbled on while trying to see if the hotel's nice or not.

i highly recommend the delta chelsea, it's downtown and it's a really nice hotel .. i've only stayed at the delta chelsea, the days inn and another really sweet hotel but it wasn't downtown .. delta chelsea rocks though .. get one with a games room, like a pool table downstairs :) even though the dc is more expensive it will be way too cheap with like 6 people in a room .. i gave rob the link to that hotel i think .. i'm at work so i can't type much .. gah! :freak:

deltea chelsea is like 105 a night but the problem is we dont have 6 per room anymore..we are struggling to have 4/5 per room depending on the night. I shall check to see if they have a big room for not much more.

$93 isn't bad between 4-5 people for the days inn
that's like $15-$20 between 4 people .. which isn't bad ..
and at least we know it's a nice place

the thing is so far we have 6 people staying for two nights..then you and marc may come for one night..then kimmy may come for two. So one night we will have 9 total and the other night we shall have 7. (maybe 8 if nam comes). So it turns out for those staying two nights about $60 each compared to the $40 at Best Western and according to AAA Best Western is three stars while Days Inn is two
