Yeah, but you have to realize a few things here.

1. You were in the balcony, hundreds of feet from the painful people.

2. Brandnew might have played a good set, but it doesn't make up for the people.

3. I went for Brandnew also, but most Dashboard fans are also Brandnew fans, which leads to equal amounts of gay in the building.

4. I hate little children. They have no place at a concert, unless they're in a soundproof cry room.

5. If your parents have to take you to a show, you're too young to go and you shouldn't be on the floor clawing people.

6. If you resort to pulling hair to get closer to a band, you deserve to have a knife in your neck.

7. If you're popular enough to get on heavy rotation on MTV, you've already sold out and don't deserve my ticket money. Please, by all means, charge that 14 year old $30 for a shitty show, she wouldn't know any better.

After seeing the crowd for Brandnew's set on Saturday, I realize I don't want to see them ever again. There's no need for anyone to go through as much shit as I did just to hear 7 fucking songs. So when Brandnew plays St. Andrew's in November, I am leaving after Hot Rod Circuit, because no one should have to put up with shit like I did at a whiney emo show. If I wanted to get my ass kicked, I'll go check out Death By Stereo and cheat death. I go to concerts for the music, not the screaming girls with their nails, so sharp.

I agree Hands Down is pretty much selling out, but getting big isn't necessarily bad. Sure it sucks ass if you're in the pit and fanbase is rather...uh...young. But I will never stop wanting my bands to be successful. I don't want them slaving away and never getting any monetary reward for their efforts. You can't say they don't deserve it.

Yeah, but wasn't Dashboard successful enough when they were selling out 1500 person venues? I mean, you make a lot of money when you play a place that large and charge $20+ a ticket each night you play. That's successful enough.

But when you're making the shittiest songs and videos possible to get yourself on TV, then you've gone too far. When your live show consists of nothing before "The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most" you've gone too fucking far. Way to alienate me, guys! I bought "The Swiss Army Romance" long before Vagrant would even bother to sign you, and this is how you repay me and other longtime fans? Wow, thanks.

And just to let you know Cass, we got a shortened set with nothing but newer songs. He actually said something along the lines of, "Hey guys, we're going to play something really old tonight," and as I am getting excited to hear "The Sharp Hint Of New Tears" I get shafted with "The Best Deceptions." Yeah, I love the song to death, but since when was that an old song? It was on their last fucking album. That's not old. That's like OLP coming out and saying they're going to play an oldie and bust out into "Somewhere Out There." It's so fucking wrong.

Yeah, you probably got shafted since they were doing three shows there and he wanted to do something different each night. Probably on one of the nights he got around to the old stuff. Now, if he didn't get around to any of the old stuff even then, then I would be pissed.

But really, what songs get him on tv? Hands Down, that is the only song even with a real video. Screaming Infedelities had one, but I don't remember it getting any rotation. I never hear them on the radio at all, with the exception of those two songs. Even with the exposure they are getting now, it's not as much as most popular bands. Of course, that is likely to change soon, with the direction it's going.

Yes, but I bought my tickets the second they went on sale so I could see a full set from Dashboard Confessional. I go there, and I get the biggest anal fucking of a lifetime at a concert. How can someone completely disregard all his older stuff? That's just sickening. That's like OLP coming out and saying, "Even though I know you guys love Naveed and Clumsy, it's just outdated and it's not the real us anymore, so we're not going to play it for you tonight." People would throw shoes at Raine if that happened.

And just to let you know, Saints and Sailors was released and had a nifty video along with it. It didn't get TRL big like Hands Down and Screaming Infidelities, but it got decent airplay. If you haven't seen the video, check it out on vagrant.com, it's actually quite nifty.

And you do realize the only reason Dashboard got big was that they sold S.I. to MTV to put in a shitty movie, right?

I've seen all the vids, yeah. I knew they had more, I'm just saying the vids that actually became rather popular are few. And yes, I knew that was the timeline for the D.C. hype. That S.I. and the unplugged show/cd.

I would be pissed, if I were you too. All's I'm saying is, I hate it when people bash bands for being big or getting big. If people like their music, that happens sometimes.
