I would also like to say that considering the guys just started writing for the new record, would you really want it in the spring? That doesn't give them much time to make a record.

I dunno about you but I would rather wait until its DONE instead of just getting something out there for the simple reason of getting out there.

Oh and just because you have to wait a while for a new OLP record doesnt mean you are going to have to wait that long for some new music ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed that part of the statement. :)

Spiritual Machines was started in mid-2000 and was ready by December. If a spring release date brought the same type of results, I'd gladly take it. :)

Tell you what, if .net hooks us up with free downloads of a few non-Sony licensed leftovers (the few songs left over from Burn Burn, for example), I might let it slide.

Spiritual Machines and Gravity were recorded quickly because the band was still in its prime and really devoted solely to OLP music (not to mention they had Sony pushing them). Now, they're older, most of them have kids/family, and Raine along with some of the others also have other professional endeavors going on as well. We can't expect them to be as quick and as solely focused on OLP music as they may once have been.

I agree with this statement. I mean I don't want a five year gap, but if I have to wait another year, so be it.

Anyone know the next time Raine is supposed to be performing some solo stuff in Ontario? I hate that I missed the Jackson Triggs show.

We talked to him after the show and he didn't mention anything. I hope soon! That wasn't helpful at all. Sorry..

Actually, how did people find out he was performing at Jackson Triggs anyways? =\ I don't think Raine tweeted it, nor did the OLP twitter..

I have alerts set up for OLP, Chantal and Raine solo

It came up that they ( Chantal and Raine) were performing together.. Chantal has played the winery now 2 or 3 years in a row..

I think he did have something on his twitter page or on the OLP page. They are alitlte behind though. I posted about the Vancouver Musid Ride days before it hit twitter or facebook..

As for SOLO shows. He might do like he did last time. Release the cd and play a few cities. I am hoping he plays Hotel Cafe( LA/Hollywood ) again. That venue is a singer/songwrite paradise..Very intimate and alot of people play there..I think right now Raine is concentrating getting his solo cd finished and start work on the next OLP cd. Who knows if he will go out for it.

I do wonder if they are going to partake in the Busking For Change again since the Kitchener Show is around the time that takes place.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Billy has played there before over the last few years. So has Randy.I think he played 2 out of the 3 shows with Raine therre. . Randy also played with Raine on his solo tour.. Randy, Kevin Fox and Chantal. The last 4 shows Jared Showed up and performed. Billy opened for him.
