Because they have a strong guitarist -- what will be missing the most as a 4 piece is keys and effects unless they come up with great new interpretations. And although he's done it before, I think Steve is more suited where he is now in the guitarist role than the multi-instrument role.

I hate to burst your bubble peeps but.... OMG Mike Turner is not coming back.... get over it. It's been almost 8 years!!

It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

I didn't think Spiritual Machines and Clumsy were going to get full tours again either, so really anything's possible. And I'm not saying Mike will or should rejoin the band, just that maybe he can make a guest appearance or something. You only live once... you gotta forgive and forget!

I'm also wondering if they'd have to get permission from Sony to use the audio samples for the voice over on In Repair, and all the Kurzweil stuff if they plan on having that in the show. Granted, Tim could run it from the soundboard, but I would rather see someone out there playing the keys and effects.

In another 16 months or so Steve will have actually been in the band longer than Mike. Maybe then people will get over it. Hah.

Why do the people who still think Naveed was their best record not wish Chris Eacrett would come back?

Oh yeah maybe because he did jack shit musically after leaving OLP. Hmmm and he's not alone in that regard.......

Oh come on, now we're not even allowed to talk about Mike when the band is going on tour EXCLUSIVELY for albums he was the main guitarist in? I don't get all this automatic groaning when Mike is ever mentioned. At least this time there's some merit to it.

I'd say they shouldn't have a problem getting those samples. They seem to still have a good relationship with Sony... Sony is still hosting all their videos (including AYD which is not Sony's) on ourladypeace.com

It's not automatic groaning, I just think that if anyone from their past shows up to guest for these shows, it would make a hell of a lot more sense for it to be someone who would handle keys (Jamie Edwards, Mike Eisenstein, hell even Arnold Lanni -- he had writing credits for some of the songs too and it's not unheard of for a producer to perform with one of his bands every once in a while).

Because they followed up with a bassist who kicked ass automatically in the studio on a good album. While the hardcore Naveed fans may look at it as their best, I haven't really heard complaints about their other good work.

Steve on the other hand, while he is a good guitarist, didn't write on Gravity (just played on a song or two and did a few overdubs), didn't really shine too much on the tracks from Healthy, and only stands out on like three or four songs from Burn Burn. While I was hopefully with a track like Paper Moon that he was finally doing great in the studio, that wasn't the case for most of Burn Burn. While he kills it live, he still hasn't really came through consistantly in the studio. Just my two cents.

Not trying to get a whole Turner vs. Mazur thing going here, just tossing that in there.

My suggestion was more in the spirit of an amicable reunion of sorts, not Mike vs. Steve or Mike coming back into the band permanently.

Im more fearful i would say.

That get's tiresome.

Raine doesn't use those vocals often anymore, of course it's gonna suck just as often.

However, their is hand full of amazing falsetto from him in the past year.

I don't believe he lost anything, he just chooses to sing differently now.

He just needs to reawaken his grunge-voice.

Agreed, and I think Matt confirmed that this is what he's trying to do (he's been singing Alice in Chains)

Haa haa... all his tweets would make her twitch. His tweets needs some help. That's why I volunteered to be the Maida Mafia Twitter tutor.
