Ooh ooh, and me.
A few years ago, I tried doing tons and tons of crunches to try to make my stomach flat. Instead, I just got muscle built up under the fat and it looked even worse.
See, I'd be perfectly happy with the stomach I have if the rest of me matched it. I'm one of those freaks who's skinny everywhere but with a pot belly. It makes me angry. I wanna be proportioned, darn it!!!!

just sit-up/crunches will not work. You need to do cardio as well, preferably walking/jogging/running, or a sport that involves a lot of exercise like soccer. What I do for cardio is ride an exercise bike for 30 mins as many times a week as I can, and this summer I plan on running everyday since we now have a treadmill in my house. If you're serious about making yourself look/feel better it takes some work.

I use the walking non stop, pull giant pallets of dog food, stack empty pallets exercise program. It's done wonders for me. I've dropped down to about 130 lbs.

I'm seriously thinking of finding a gym and getting a trainer to help me put on some weight and muscle. I'm tired of being skinny Matt.

I've always been told that the treadmill is the best way to get a full body cardio work out. Apparently those gazelle things don't do much because eventually your arms and legs just get used to the motion.
How tall are you Matt?
Getting a trainer is a great thing to do but it can be expensive. A lot of fitness places have people who not only run the place but act as a monitor of progress. At the gym I was at a few years back I would have a monthly session where I'd be measured in a variety of things to see improvements, and I was also put on a diet where I had to take in about 3000 calories a day. This was included as part of my membership.
At the time, I was 15/16 years old and weighed about 160 and in about a year I put on a good 15 pounds and lost 3% of my body fat. Unfortunately I broke my wrist soon after that and had to have an operation that put me out of commission for 6 months, and I'm still not back in the condition I was when I was working out at a fitness place.
Also, if people try and get you to take supplements don't take them unless your goal is to simply look bulked up. A lot of them just help your cells retain more water and that's how it bulks you up. You're better off going the old fashion route of a balanced diet eating 4 meals a day and exercise.

Yeah I told my mom to get a treadmill instead because I don't think the gazelle will do much but the gazelle thing was on special so she bought it .. I'd rather have a treadmill myself. Or one of those hanging punching bags to kick the shit out of.

I do tons of cardio, run 4-7 days a week for at least 30 minutes. I need to start doing more actually. It's not the cardio I'm concerned with, I just want a toned tummy!
Yeah, that gazelle things don't work. The ONLY thing that has ever worked for me is running. I love it. But I can't do it on treadmills.

I've heard running is really good for the abdominals.

I want a treadmill really bad, but we're poor. All we have is a stupid thing that looks like a bike but isn't (we got it free cos my grandparents' old tenant left it there when she moved out)... it does nothing. My mom took me to her gym once and I hated it. I don't wanna build muscle, I just want to stay at least semi-in shape. I'm too much of a wimp to go running outside or anything cos the weather here's either too cold or too hot.

Looks like you're out of luck then Nikki. Running outside is not bad at all. Give it a try, it's so much more interesting than a treadmill.
