Cracky wrote:You're right, you can't compare them, I can never see an OHL player refusing to play for a whole season because he isnt making the 30 mil he clearly needs for playing a goddamn sport.

Please, name one NHL player who made $30 million last season, or any season at that.

Cracky wrote:The hockey is just as good, just as entertaining, the only difference is the players arent getting played extroadinary amounts of money, and they dont have "Linden" and "Yzerman" stamped on the back of their jerseys.

I'm sorry, but I would definitely prefer to see Yzerman and/or Linden play over any junior league player. There are no junior league teams in Buffalo. The only thing we have is Canisius and Niagara college games, and, even though I go to Canisius College, I refuse to watch those assholes play hockey. They're all idiots, and they think they're above everyone else on the face of the planet. Anyone from the area who pays attention to the news will know what I'm talking about. Other than that, we have the AHL in Rochester, but I am not driving to Rochester to see the players who can't make the NHL play.

So with that said, I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the NHL season is cancelled. I hope Bettman realizes what a stupid, stupid mistake he made in cancelling the season. The NHL will never be able to regain the fans that it lost from this season. I'll be the first in line to buy tickets whenever they go on sale again. Yep, I'm a sucker, but I love my hockey and I love my Sabres....

though i agree with you on most of your points...
"They're all idiots, and they think they're above everyone else on the face of the planet" <---as opposed to NHL players? lol. Some of these major league players think they're God's gift to the Earth! Most are pompous arrogant jerks. I still want them back though haha

It's not just the guys who make it into the big leagues. Guys who play for the Oshawa Generals and are still in high school go to Henry Street High School, which is where I went. There are the most obnoxious people you will ever meet. They definitely think that they're the shit. And not only that, most of them are the dumbest people you will ever meet. Now before anyone jumps all over me for discriminating against hockey players, I'm not saying it's all hockey players. I'm simply saying from my experience.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I think you'll find stupid people no matter where you go. Did Horton go to your school Brent?

My two cents is that junior hockey is very good hockey. It is often way more intense than a regular NHL game and far more enjoyable

I dunno, I still enjoy watching an NHL game more than a Junior game. Guess it's all a matter of opinion.
I don't think it's a generalization that hockey players are jerks and conceited. When I was working at the paper I interviewed just about every Mississauga Ice Dog and some Brampton Batallions and players from various other CHL/WHL teams and they are so full of themselves. It's like they think they're too cool to answer a question. They're all one word responses.

Yeah he did, his locker was across the hall from mine when I was in grade 11. I didn't know him personally, but most people that I knew that knew him said he was a prick.

*shrug*

Like I said, I didn't know him myself, so I can't say anything.

I do know that he slept around like crazy though. People called him the dirtiest hockey player in the OHL, and not because of the way he plays hockey.

They have house parties, and are...mean...to girls. And they trash hotel rooms. And they had their coach fired who has been in the Canisius hockey program for like 25 years for "irreconciable differences." And they're not even that good. At least NHL players have made it to the top of their profession and have a little right to be pompous. They're crappy MAAC D-I college hockey players.

I don't like them at all, if you couldn't tell... :P

i play hockey with a guy who played in the Quebec Major league
and he's a really nice guy

and i went to school with a lot of guys who played on our WHL team when they were actually good
and sure some of them were tools, but a lot of them were also pretty cool guys

its not like they are just fuck heads because they are good at hockey, chances are they are just bitches and being good at hockey gives them one more thing to be a fucker about
so if there good at hockey or not either way the person would probably be a piece of shit

ya Nathan is a good guy when you know him. I grew up with him and he was one of my best friends. His dog gave me fleas when I was 9 lol

hey arlie, you're talking about Canisius right? Not Niagara U? Cause from what I've seen and was told Niagara U is one of the top 10 hockey schools in the states. When I was 16 they were talking to me about the possibilities of a scholarship there and so I got to see the school and check out some games/practices, meet players and coaches and it seemed like it was top class hockey. Also, didn't they make the Frozen four a couple years ago?
