I understand trusty's reasoning for wanting it kept under wraps...but it's kind of too late.

But beside that, it's more about trusting your fans. I mean, I spent over $500 on the last tour to see shows, + VIP passes, etc. Not saying that makes me "owed" anything. But while it's nice to have trusty here to fill us in, he really does the job of a twitter feed for all the exclusive or early news it gets us. He may be a nice guy, but he's a paid employee that also is responsible for viral marketing. His job is to string us along so the hype reaches unbelievable levels and we spread the word.

And that's ok, that's part of his job I guess. But to tell your fans not to share something they love with each other, when clearly we're going to be the ones who are going to buy multiple copies/vinyls/VIP passes, etc...

Coming from a guy named trustworthy, he doesn't seem to think us very trustworthy.

Hey you guys are entitled to your opinion...and have expressed them time and time again.

But I'm goin to have to take offence to rileys post - I have gone OUT OF MY WAY time and time again to give you guys the heads up on stuff and keep you all in the loop. I have tried my best to help anyone from here out at shows, with questions, problems, etc - I have always told you guys if something is coming, given you hints as to where to look for stuff/when to expect it etc etc....hell I have even told you things that could pootentially get me in trouble.

I don't have to do this shit you know? It's not like I get paid to be in here and answer questions or give you some insight that you would not have otherwise....or in this case spend an hour trying to contain what could be quite the little disaster for the band and this whole campaign we are building around the new record..

Not too sure why you think you are owed anything? Im kinda getting a bit sick of this sense of entitlement that some people have these days. I am really not too sure why you would ever think I come in here to sell ticks, hawk swag and sell records? that is just ridiculous and 100% bullshit and I really take offence to that...i have never EVER posted anything even slightly machiavellian in here.

Honestly, if you feel like you are owed ANOTHER new olp song free and if by chance you get this track...well go do whatever you want with it, no one is TELLING you to do anything here. I simply asked everyone not to share it and put it online out of respect for the band and out of respect for the team that works really fucking hard on creating all of this for YOU, the fans.

Like honestly why do you think we do any of this stuff? Because we just all love working late nights, weekends and holidays? because we love creating stuff and putting our heart and souls into projects only to get slammed for it by the 'fans'? Do you honestly think I stay up for days on end to create content for you because I really love beating myself up mentally and in some case physically? NO! I always go that extra mile and make personal sacrifices for one reason - TO TRY AND MAKE THE FANS HAPPY.

so there you have it, once agian for those that are showing restraint and respect for the guys thanks again, for those who are still not happy about anything, well, i dunno what to tell ya...??? happy holidays? who knows.

I don't think trusty has any say in the matter, and his trust to the band is also his life and career at this point.

That being said, you can try to ask around. DG already said he won't punish us for it.

riley you don't know what my job is and what i do... so please just stick to what you know ok? why dont you just take this type of bullshit somewhere else? make a new thread titled "why my fav band owes me the fucking universe" because before you starting spouting off things were actually pleasant in here and everyone was on a great vibe...coincidence? probably not.

Anyway, i have said what i needed to say - and you can bet it will be the last time i acknowledge you - so keep feeling entitled, go spread around a band you loves music for free because someone screwed up, maybe if you are lucky and it goes viral you can even put that person out of a job! that would be a nice early xmas gift huh? - you can keep moaning about spending money on the tour you CHOSE to spend your money on, etc - i got no time for this kind of shit any more and quite frankly find it really offensive and 100% pathetic.

Trusty I for one ( and for the most part the rest of this forum I'm sure) appreciate everything you do for us, and also respect the bands wishes to not spoil what they have in store for this new single.

*Can't.

It would be impossible for us to control that. That is what I was saying.

This.

It gets a bit annoying where people think they deserve something because we aren't treated better than other fans. Would I like the CM to get a little something in advance? Yes. Technically, we did. Just most of you weren't here to hear it. Trustworthy has already said that he may share some art with us a little early. I don't know what else you can ask for, really. We are actually treated 90% better by OLP and TW than most bands of there gravitas.

We really shouldn't even be fighting. Yes, some people heard a full song and others didn't. It can't be controlled. It was glitch. We just need to be patient and civil.

EDIT: Go back before 3 years ago. This place didn't have a TW. The most contact was through the old OLP.net and the Clumsy Congress, which, I might add, had a clusterfuck of more issues. The current state of OLP/TW and CM contact is almost perfect.

To be honest, Trusty is the main reason I even come to this board anymore.

In all seriousness, Trusty is the shit and goes out of his way to tell us everything he knows. Before we had to look at news update pages that were barely updated leaving us all in wonder. Hell, i posted a link to my book page and he was the first one to 'like' it.

Shameless plug:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Zombies-R ... 3389172150

Did he have to do that? No! That is above and beyond! If he were to be at an OLP show, I'd ask for his autograph as well.

Thus is law.

and sorry for going off but honestly its about time I made my self heard when it comes to this shit I have bit my tounge for waaaaaay too long now.

and like i have told everyone who has let me know that they have the song (which is pretty awesome for you to do so thanks) - enjoy it! you are lucky! but just have some respect, for the band, for team OLP but even more so for the person who screwed up - mistakes happen, we all know that but unfortunately with one like this it has to potential to cause some real damage :(

I don't think I'm owed anything, I even said that above.

Regardless of if you're paid to be here or not, you keep teasing people and then joke when they want concrete info or dates or anything like that. It's not a cool thing to do.

All I'm saying it reel back in all the teasing and hyping if nothing is coming soon. Don't string us along over little things. You're in a position where you have all the info and we have nothing, and would all kill to have your job/experiences. So you've got to realize, and maybe you don't, that it sucks to sit at home and listen how awesome things are, and then be told that things are coming soon or you'll hear this soon or whatever, and then nothing happens.

I know things get in the way or things come up. But the easiest way to not disappoint or jade people is not to promise or tease at things you can't deliver. I'd much rather be surprised with a clip of a song than be teased and strung along for 2 weeks over it, all the while being told it's only a little while away. Just my thoughts.

I know I'm not owed anything beyond the direct things I pay for. But you have to also acknowledge that we love OLP as much as you. I get not wanting the single out there floating around, but to ask us not to share with each other, when clearly we wouldn't leak it is insulting to us too. You get a chance to hear this stuff every day, sing on stage with the band playing, etc. We get to work 9-5 jobs and see the band once every 3-4 years.

Don't take it personally, just realize where I am coming from, and lay off the teasing/hokeyness.

Yeah Trusty's the man, sure he brags about being privvy to OLPness while we're left in the dark, but it's all in good joking fun. He's here to chat it up with us, to get us pumped for OLP, and we're here to tell him to let OLP know how much we love them.

Last thing we should ever do is insult such a cool guy, he's been very appreciative and understanding lately of our efforts to contain this leak and also with me regarding a YouTube video of the 40-second clip.

Nothing but respect for that man.

being the new guy here, I think riley was just upset that he missed the fun, and took it out on the obvious target (the one he felt was restricting his experience).

That being said, trusty, I wouldn't take it to heart, I think most all of us can rationally see what your situation is, and appreciate having you around.

Riley, I get the disappointment, but I mean, really, what can you expect, you're basically asking for theft of the bands work from one of their employees, who is going out of his way for us as is.

Also, being so blunt will only make you enemies, which is a shame, because I have found this community to be very friendly and supportive to it's members.

The fact that a friend/employee of the band would go to lengths to come here daily and fill us in on OLP is amazing on it's own, but the fact he's joined the community and even liked LifeRiot's book page just shows he's one he'll of a guy even without OLP.

I mean, how bored and even more in the dark would we be sometimes without the man?

Thank you, Trusty.

Trusty is our only connection with the band. Without him we would have nothing.

Someone said that Trusty is the only reason they come here anymore. That's so true. Nothing happens on these boards until Trusty comes in and stirs the pot about whats goin on in OLP land and gives us something to discuss. And thats what gets the rest of us here talking OLP.

Im glad we have him here keeping us posted on things. And I applaud the band for trying to launch this thing without leaking. It practically impossible these days even with so few people involved.

I think we are all just really excited to hear this great new tune. I know I cant wait....some of you are lucky monkeys!!
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?
