In the country of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), there are many human rights violations by the government of Myanmar, the State Peace and Development Council (otherwise known as SPDC). Myanmar is ruled in a strict military dictatorship by the Burmese military junta, called the tatmadaw, and has more child soldiers than any other country in the world.

Some human right violations by the tatmadaw are:

· Arbitrary theft of properties (livestock, food, jewelry, land, money) belonging to citizens of the minority ethnic groups
· Forced labour (unpaid physical work)
· Arbitrary land confiscation, forced evictions, and house destruction

its funny how everybody thinks wearing a band is gonna change something. i suggest you people wake up. people will continue to die of aids, governments dont really care about africa. sure, they may cancel debts, but that's not too generous of them, seeing as how they are the ones getting those countries indebted in the first place. globalization people. its a reality, and so is free trade. there is nothing you people can do by wearing that ribbon, and i dont think you have to wear a purple or white rubber to support and issue. i dont sign on to these sites because its not a solution. maybe you love hoping something good will come of it, that some children in africa will profit. but the rich assholes who lead this nation, and especially those who run the US dont give half a rat's ass about what's going on in africa. and so long as the ones who hold power do not, we will have no chance of changing anything. unless of course people band together. the problem is the mass populus would never want to do such a thing. the 60s are dead, peace is loooong dead, and nothing but armed revolt will change that. the problem is armed revolt is the worst thing to do, and so humanity is therefore doomed to die, from whatever cause you can think up. you call me a conspiracy theorist? then why not go on hoping that your leaders will save you. its the same deal as religion, only with your government as the god.
