Yeah, so I've been out grocery shopping this evening and come home to this. In years past, I would have melted down and tried to figure out what we were going to do. But now, this is great. I appreciate how everyone has handled it. Has made my life much easier. Props to all of you.

Trusty...remember, in the music world, leaks aren't always a bad thing. It's a + to have your music in demand. But I totally understand when you have that release coinciding with a big project, it's a major pain. Luckily we have good folks here!

This is torture. I heard it earlier a few times when I was in my library, an couldn't get it. Now I can't get it at all! It's like heroin. I'm seriously about to stop. drop. roll...and shake from the withdrawals!

After missing this, it made me think about how we're being told not to share and all that...and how after being here for a few years I've never actually had any advantage come out of it. I mean, I appreciate the community aspect of discussing OLP, but even though trustworthy is here trying to hype us up and buy stuff and buy tickets...we don't really get anything early or anything at all, really. When he posts stuff it's also available publicly.

I know the guys are cool, but OLP doesn't really have that great of a service to their hardcore fans. I understand not wanting this to get out to the public, but not even sharing it amongst ourselves? That's pretty silly. It's like "yeah we've been hyping you guys on this for a long time and oops, we gave you something extra by accident not give it back or else." Not cool, in my opinion.

I mean, i agree and disagree.

It's annoying as hell to not have it when it's out there. A leak is a leak. They happen frequently.

But from the band's standpoint, something they've been hyping and have been excited for somehow got on the internet. I mean, wouldn't it bother you in their shoes? It kind of destroys the hype.

But I wouldn't go as far (nearly) as saying OLP don't treat their hardcore fans well. I've never seen another band with a "Trusty" on the message boards, communicating with fans connecting to OLP.

So I mean, I'll wait, impatiently.

I missed it too, and olp is my favorite band, and I've considered then dead for years now.... so I'm Super exited to hear that the song was good, and super pissed I have a month now to get my chance. But at the same time, there are certain legal things that go into the release of music... And I'm sure if trusty could give the ok , he would. Ultimately, the song is not finished yet, by the band standards. It seems that they plan on releasing it with more than just the audio... So, they want it to to be presented a particular way, ESPECIALLY to the fans who care the most about their music.

I personally don't care, if I could get my hands on even a pre mixed rough copy recorded on raines talkboy I'd do it in a heart beat... But you've should at least get where they are coming from.

We, as the CM, are officially linked by Our Lady Peace on their websites. So it's pretty easy for any OLP fan to find this board. This was a small contained incident, for the most part. Luckily for the band. We're just trying to keep it as closed nit as possible.

If you can find someone to give it to you privately and it doesn't go public, no one is going to know or get hurt by it, per se (Though, I think it's only fair that you buy the single when it's released if you have it right now), so it's not really that. The main thing is we want this "leak" to be as low key as possible out of respect of the band's wishes.

So is it okay if I PM this to some desperate folks here, or is that just DG's opinion? But you're a mod now!! :D

It's mainly my opinion, but like I said, No one is going to know and we can't stop it. I was just pointing that out so people don't get into a tustle about it. Ha. Not necessarily condoning it. But we are a small group of people, so if it does get out publicly, we can narrow it down pretty easily. Ha.

Did I miss something? Where are you getting that timeline? I think TW said a "couple weeks." Now, if you've already thrown that into the OLP timeline converter and came out with a month, then I understand. Monster tease for everybody though if it really releases a whole month from now.

Trusty said a couple if weeks, and I'm a natural pessimist

Is there a release date yet for the album?

I'd doubt it. I bet they have a timeframe, but nothing set in stone.

Not yet. Don't even have a single release date quite yet. But you could bet money on early 2012.
