Well its not like i'm related to him or anything, i dont see why i should mourn, its not like he's God. Besides i have PILES of homework, i find getting into university more important than being a good catholic

I don't get that survey.
I am just asking a question, please no one kill me. What is it that makes the Pope special? To you, of course.

he's kinda sorta in a special spiritual connection with God beyond that of everyone else. so through him, the true unaltered will of God is supposed to be able to pass.
something along those lines anyway...........

So, you're saying the Pope is a prophet of God? Because I thought that Catholics didn't claim that. I thought that they just thought he was merely the highest dude in their church. Sort of like a president.
Matt, if it makes you feel better, nice girls also finish last.

Not a prophet, just Gods connection to the earth. He doesnt spout like, holy sayings and wise stuff necessarily, because what he says is apparently just the word of God and the pope is his puppet.
Like I said, dumb.

Well I'm not one to bash someone's religion...but it sounds sort of lame to revere him so much when other people can do the exact same thing.

*shrugs*
I didnt make up catholocism, i only semi barely follow it.
Dont you revere religious leaders too though? In the exact same way even.
There are other highly respected religious leaders in the catholic church, and there have been in the past [see: mother theresa], but personally i'd rather revere someone for their work with the poor, and the bettering of humanity than them claiming they hear God. Its really alot more beneficial. They're actually doing something to help. I mean writing and claiming things is great and all, but its not really changing all of the other problems the world faces.

Well our religious leaders claim revelation. Well, everyone has revelation...but that's a different story. But our president claims to be a prophet and speak directly with God. And the apostles.
I know you don't follow it that much, I was just curious. I don't know much about Catholocism. Your church, as far as I've heard, does alot for humanity. I'll bet they donate more money to good causes than most organizations in the world.

I think they give the most out of all the religions in the world, yes. I'm not 100% but i think so. They do alot, they always have. For that reason i like being catholic. Catholocism is the only religion i will ever be, so i really do try to be good, but its difficult when the church says so much against gay marriage and gay rights.

Not to sound rude or anything... but why be something you don't believe in?
