mine was grade 10
i graduated in 1998
i beat you all
then again
i do watch many a hockey game in french
and i do on occasion converse in broken french with my bro to see if i still remember it

it's only mandatory until gr.8

then i ditched it. :mrgreen:

but i've taken spanish since i dropped french, so i don't know if that counts, :lol:

What exactly is wrong with French? I never did understand this anglo-canadian high school student mentality against it. I think it's a lovely language.

oh, well I don't hate it. I just never understood how to speak it. In fact, I never got past jemapple and aurevior. And I am fairly sure that I mispelled those.

I loved it. I was in french immersion for 8 years.

I sucked at french. I took it for four semesters in grade 9 and 10. I was totally glad to be done with it. I remember so very little. But, I didn't hate it while I was doing it, and I had a really crappy teacher.

I've always loved french. Its one of canadas languages, I think everyone should know both.

ive wondered that too
i think part of it is the way the language is taught
if one learns how to use the language in a practical manner rather than the formal verb conjugation, etc of the language they appreciate it more

when i was in school, we learned how not to use it almost
it wasnt enjoyable
it was formal and annoying

my brother however, (hes in IB) they pick up le monde, and other papers, etc and look at the language from a more practical sense
