There's a music video, right Trusty? I seem to remember you mentioned that... and what about Sony? Are they distributing as with Burn Burn? Will Heavyweight be on VEVO, MuchMusic, radio, etc.?

That reminds me, whatever happened with the tour DVD you and the band were putting together? It seems like every tour/release they start some project or contest and then it never gets finished.

well it's there the 3 shows in vancouver all shot plus the 2 months of tour I shot, we got it all in the vault...but stuff takes time and other things and fresh new ideas always come up and people tend to gravitate towards them - and the focuss goes there you know?It's just the nature of the beast.

BUT

I actually spoke about this today so its deff something that is still a topic of discussion. We have SOOOOO much footage of EVERYTHING that sometimes its tough to pick and choose what to use and how to use it in the best way and in a way that will reflect where the band is at that given moment

You could always release it to the community in a bunch of zipped files and let people work magic with it.

I wish that a deluxe package of the album 8 will be with this tour stuff!! Especially the CM/SM tour!

yeah that is an idea - releasing stuff, cept the files are all massive hd files, and the stuff from vancouver is like crazy super HD formats that no one can use, so the zip would take like a month to upload/download...and in order to provide clips that would mean each and every single piece of footgae would have to be screened / re-rendered and cut before releasing it - so that in itself would be more work than just creating a DVD....hell would be more work than creating 2 of them!

When it comes to something included with the record...welll i guess it would come down to a making of the record dvd OR tour dvd - i think the real question, which is more important and what is something that best represents OLP right now, backs up the release and follows the themes/vibe of it.

perhaps one of them can stand on their own as something outside of this new release - time will tell and I am sure this will become a bigger topic of discussion as things move along in OLP land...meaning SOON

With this soon i'm going crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want the entire Heavyweight now and not soon!!! hahahahah Can the guys release the single and then after make the video like other bands? hahahahah i'm crazy!!!

I would love a documentary on the new album... kinda explaining on how they got to it. I know a lot went into it... i heard on some interview with raine that (if memory serves) they had almost finished album 8, when one of his producer friends told him it was shit, and it totally slapped him into the next gear. I'd love to see what they had, where they were going, and then how it evolved into the new song lists when (it seems) they were already done with what sounded like Burn Burn II.

Also, would love the C/SM tour live... long over due.

Nine Inch Nails did it. 3 full length concerts in full HD, .mov files, with the professionally recorded audio. It was 400 GB, released via torrent on The Pirate Bay. No record label interference, free to the public. A dedicated group created a DVD/Blu-Ray release that was equivalent, if not better, than anything a dedicated company would have produced. The finished product was released to the public, again via torrent and direct download, in a multitude of formats, and free of charge. The production and thought process behind it gained worldwide attention, as well as blurbs in Rolling Stone, and the New York Times.

I say this, because time and time again we've thrown the idea out there that giving fans an opportunity to create the art behind the music is an amazing thing. It draws fans and artist together. The cost to the band is nothing, unless you count this case where the band hired an outside group to film. Otherwise, allowing the fans to piece together the video and generate the content is free of charge to the band. Is it risky? Yes. But the payoff in the end is worth that risk.
