I love good for sule - can't figure out what the eff it's about, apparently some guy they knew name sule, but beyond that . . . yeah, anyway, even though I don't know what it's about it's so uplifting but simultaneously pain-filled, which I love.

I'm watching one of the newer episodes of Degrassi right now, and the song Alive by Edwin is playing. Jay and Silent Bob are in this one too, isn't Silent Bob the director of the show or something?

IME are awesome, i wonder if we're evergoing to see a dvd of that concert where they played every song they ever wrote
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

"Hold on, hold on children, your mother and father are leaving, hold on, hold on children your best freind's parents are leaving, leaving,.......*AHHH*! " - Death From Above - Black History Month

on top of that a few covers too, IME don't even write short songs!

As far as I'm concerned I Mother Earth went to hell as soon as Brian joined, and edwin left.....during edwin you had amazing songs like

used to be alright
one more astronaut
another sunday
like a girl
levitate
so gently we go

then edwin leaves and we get this....

I Is Us
Summertime In Void
Soft Bomb Salad (matter of fact the whole Quicksilver album, minus No Coma, which was a good single)

i don't understand are you pointed out bad Brian songs?!?!?! I think those are pretty cool songs actually. And Summertime in the Void was rather successful. And all your Edwin songs are from one album excluding Levitate, which Brian preforms better live anyways.

I like both of them and as far as i'm concerned they were 2 diffrent bands, they we'ren't supposed to sound like Edwin.

Obviously you just have a more mainstream sence of taste. But saying they went to crap is a bit much. Lyrically Chris grew a lot, Jag continued to experiment and produce, and even though sometimes some people hate Brians voice, at least live that's exactly how he sounds, in some cases better. Edwin is legendary for sucking really really bad live sometimes and sometimes being fine.

Not to mention that Brian walked into a well established Canadian band, and played all of Edwins songs, with complex lyrics in months. He has always stayed true to them without changing them too much, but he always delivered them with less arrogance and more heart, because that's how Brian sings. And the vocal improvment from BGO to TQMD is astounding.

I don't hate Edwin, i love both of his albums with IME, and i own both of his solo cd's, but comparing him to Brian and calling him shit is not only unfair but also wrong.

Personal attacks eh, because you don't agree with my opinion...that's pretty low indeed, I like music that I like,,,.It could be Good Charlotte, it could be The Beach Boys, even Led Zepplin, If I like the song, I like it....I don't think I should be lambasted for it....I like Gravity, wow, big fucking deal...Am I less of a person for it?

I don't know if he is or not, thats the prob, but I just get really irratated when someone is thought less of because of the music they like, music is completely subjective.

k, first off, I'm pretty sure he's kidding. I think everyone on this board has come to grips with the fact that a lot of people like gravity and that they have every right to while maintaining their musical dignity. And second, if you like gravity, that does actually provide a possible explanation for why you don't like those three songs - because they are miles away (not better, just away) from anything on gravity, and as people tend to like one specific kind of music above all others (not to say that you necessarily do) it makes sense that someone who likes gravity would not like 'i is us', 'summertime in the void', and 'soft bomb salad'. It wasn't a personal attack, it was just a funny comment, which actually turns out to have possibly had some merit in a hypothetical situation.
