Bwahahahahah!! 5-1 against the Islanders! From the way the Sabres looked tonite, you never woulda guessed that all that crap happened in the offseason. They played so strong! 5 different goal scorers, too, including Jochen Hecht. That was a great acquistion, if you ask me.
Plus, there was 5 1/2 fights! I say 5 1/2 because Tim Connolly dropped his gloves but never fought. The ref pulled him away before he could start anything. Taylor Pyatt got kicked out in the first for spearing some guy in the chest. Ha, it was a great game. What a great way to kick off the season.

spearing is never fun
i didnt see it
but
if he got booted for it then it has to be bad heh
and that shouldnt be part of the game
having said that however
i love hockey
its my sport
and always will be
lol
i cant wait to see jose theodore and montreal kick some ass
welcometoFISHworld.. did the sharks resign brad stuart yet?! cuz w/o him and nabakov for any length of time they could be in trouble.. more so stuart than nabakov tho since theyve already lost sutter to retirement and all
kiprasoff is a pretty good goalie in his own right and *SHOULD* be able to hold fort for now IF the defence plays reasonably well but that wont happen w/o 2 of their top defenceman from last year and 2 guys who always log a lot of minutes heh

It wasn't even that bad of a spear. He just kinda pushed him over in the chest. Yeah, he shouldn't have done it but Ray Schultz totally overreacted like he was dying or something. He had Pyatt in a headlock and as soon as he let go, the refs grabbed Pyatt, so he just pushed him over with his stick. Oh well, they won, so all is good in Sabre-land.

ahhhh
so the dude the isle's embellished it heh
that sucks
but i guess the refs saw the stick being used in a "spearing motion" and decided to be harsh as a warning
i mean.. last year vs the isles when shayne corson got suspended for "kicking" or using a "kicking motion" what he did looked and seemed pretty harmless.. he sorta just lifted his foot and moved it towards the guy.. nothing close to actually kicking him but he got suspended just as a warning basically and to stop others and himself from doing something like that cuz the potential consequences are very bad heh

I haven't been on this thread in a couple days, and I don't feel like looking back a couple pages to see if anyone posted about the leafs. So I'll do it anyways.

6-0 OVER THE PENS BABY, YEAH! Either the Leafs are better this year, or the Pens just really suck. I think it's a bit of both.

Atlanta played last nite against Carolina and guess who scored? Kozlov and Smehlik. SMEHLIK!! I can't believe it. Smehlik had to have had like 15 goals over the span of his career in Buffalo, and he was here for a looong time. His first game in Atlanta he scores. Bah. I'm happy for Kozlov, though. I hope he does real well.
Buffalo @ Montreal tonite. Yee-haw. I'm going against my team, though, and I say Montreal 4-2.

Yeah, how did you people like that little play by Lindros? The Rangers were losing, he was on the ice, and he slammed his stick into some one's head. Yeah Lindros, you're a little bitch. You leave Philly to go to the Rangers. What the hell were you thinking? You leave a team that is still one of the best in the league without you, and you go to a team who can't make the playoffs. Good job!
