I heard Upside Down on the radio (I think it was on the radio) the other day.
I definately recognize the chorus, because when I heard it, I tried to picture someone "sinking into the ceiling" and had myself a giggle at the attempt at symbolic lyrics.
I know this in itself has almost become a cliché, but this does seem a little pop-rock. Well, not so much "pop-rock" as a carbon copy of every other top 20 rock band. I don't know what Harem Scarem was like though, maybe this has always been their style.
I'm surprised at my disappointment. I've been waiting forever for more Emtee. I was definately looking forward to this.
Oh well. He still rocks the guit box.

Yeah, I'm with you on the disappointment. I don't hear any Emtee in the songs at all.
Oh, and you may have heard the lead singer guy's version... some of these songs are from his solo album, but re-recorded with the band.

Ahh, maybe.
It was definately the same song.
And it freaked me out when I heard it here.

I'm disappointed that Down In It wasn't a Nine Inch Nails cover.
My impression of the first two songs is . . .
Gravity > this
Maybe I'll get used to it. :*)**

I can tell which guitar parts are emtee but I was disapointed as well. Its sound like most of the rock I hear on the radio these days. That isnt a good thing.

Exactly. I can definately pick out the emtee-esque parts.
But I'm very much disappointed. Standard rock radio stuff. Very shruggable.

That's a fairly extreme comparison. It's not
that bad.
I actually really really like it.
Oh, and the EP cover is effing awesome.

Is it really? I know that it's early to be making the comparison . . . but I don't feel that it's a very extreme comparison. I probably won't buy the ep or album.

I'll go see them if they ever play somewhere near me though, just to see Mike play.

the tunes are not bad...all sound kinda the same though...generally speaking...
i was much more impressed with "Don't Start" "Beautiful Forever" and "The Alchemist" the he did with Jay McGroarty...those songs rocked my socks

The songs done with Jay and Jamie were fucking awesome.
These songs just plain sound like everything else.
If they play here, though, I'll definately go to see/meet Mike.

As well I, that is if they come to Edmonton. Maybe I'll be able to meet the Turner.

I agree with pretty much everything that's been said in here.

I like the songs, they're ok, but not anything special really. Can't really hear much of the Turner sound in there. Loved Mike's stuff with Jay so much more than this. I'll go see them live if I get the chance (something tells me I'd have to make a trek to Canadaland, though

).

You're such a tool.
You didn't hear it on the radio.
Fool.

It sounds like Switchfoot to me. I don't like Switchfoot. At all.
