Personally I don't care what you do to yourself. I have friends who drink, and smoke, and I enjoy myself greatly while they're drinking, it's a lot of fun to talk to them and what not, and really I could care less whether I was intoxicated or not.

By no means is it morally wrong in my opinion. I'm against drinking under age though. As for smoking a joint I think it should be legal only because it is no different than alcohol in my opinion and should be allowed in private. If it became legal and an age of 18 or 19 was put in as a minimum I would be against anyone who was under age and smoking.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Doing anything to alter your state of mind is morally wrong to me.

I'm also in the no-drinking-or-smoking-or-what-have-you category. the main reason that began was because of my religion (Islam, not LDS like cass), but now if i had the option i wouldn't do any of those things anyway. you wanna get stupid and kill your brain slowly, hit yourself with a frying pan in the head a couple times instead.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

i agree with that for the most part, but i guess it depends on the extent.
I don't see casual drinking as that bad unless it get's overboard.

what about how Church alters your state of mind?

sorry to start a shit fight but it's true

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

The chruch supports anti-depressents. Those are disorders. Sure, the church alters your state of mind, but you don't have to take a drug to do it. There is no artifical stimulus. Well hey, maybe that bread and water is going straight to my head.

Actually, I really think that altering your state of mind is something of interest. Anti-depressants can cause all sorts of behavioural and physical problems....probably a lot worse than marijuana. I take anti-depressants, but sometimes wonder if they are doing me more harm than good....

I smoke up every now and then. If I use a vapourizer I can cut out a lot of the pollutants that come with marijuana, or even a bong purifies it. The actual drug really isn't bad for you in moderation.

I wonder how how our more religious CM'ers view this.....

I have very close family members who take anti-depressants. They are needed. The church only supports it as a last option. Yes, they may lead to other problems, but that's not really the point of the this thread, is it? I would be against anti-depressants if people took them to get high.

Drugs fuck up your mind...and just by looking at the people that do drugs at my school alone it's good enough to prove that,

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

I smoke up maybe 2-3 times a year and drink semi-regularly and I wouldn't say that my mind is "fucked up" thank you
