How can you go from a dark song to happy poppy chorus?.......When it's not sarcastic?

i hate how they make it real poppy then call it dark and heavy and whatnot.

Easily. The process involves something called "music".
It's a fascinating process that doesn't have to adhere to any pattern because you think it should.

Excuse me? Pattern? Your talking tome about standard musical structure, ad trying to act like i couldn't understand a complicated unique unstructured band like GC. But IME, yeah they're really normal structured. Oh and GSY!BE, holy shit i listen to basic music

Hell look at Soundgarden! BORING!
Why the hell would they write a song that's sad ALL THE WAY THROUGH? Like, who can listen to that in their car? I wish everyone could be as unique as GC, sideways hat's, eyeliner, poppy chorus's. Bach eat your heart out!

Not at all just drunk and annoyed. Speaking what i normally woudln't say. Partly out of anger towards the poseur, avril/gc, angst ridden 15 yo's that were sitting behind me at BP.

how the fuck does listening to avril or good charlotte make you a "poseur"?
just because people (gasp) listen to other music than you, doesn't mean you should look down on them or waste your time getting angry at them for liking what they do. i don't go around putting you down because of the music you like.
i like how the ones who call people close-minded for listening to mainstream music can't get their heads around the fact that maybe that's just the music they like. oh no!!

but the thing is... a lot of people who HAPPEN to like GC and Avril HAPPEN to claim themselves to be very dark and angry and all that when they are not. so that kind of explains the poseur thing.
i can understand people listening to GC and Avril, but pretending to be angsty because they also pretend is kind of pointless and dishonest, and rather annoying.

I didn't bring your musical taste into question. Put your cred cards away.
And I didn't endorse the structure of GC's single in any way, or GC to begin with.
I AM ME wrote:i just think it's a little fake and insulting, when they try to makea dark brooding song and then break out into this poppy shitty chorus. Why can't they at least make the song fit together?
You asserted that a song should have a certain type of chorus if it has a certain type of verse. I said that's bs, which it is. You don't like the song, great. However, music doesn't *have to* be anything you think it should be, regardless of how superior you feel your musical taste to be.

exactly i'm talking about all the avril/gc dress alikes, trying desperatly to prove how individual they are, that's they're rebells. When really they're just immature girls and boys struggling to discoer who they are. They think to be individual and unique they have to dress up like that and wear eyeliner, when really they're no better then the preppy girls they hate so much. They're not individual, they're just following counter-culture. And that's what annoys me.

exactly. there are a lot of people who dress/act/talk that way, yet do not have a single rebellious thought in their lives.

Still, I don't think the 'posers' are near as bad as the punk elitists who accuse anyone who dresses in black and doesn't listen to misfits, or does listen to good charlotte of being a poser. There was a guy in my school last year who used to do that to most of my friends almost dayly last year, and even went as far as accusing a preppy girl who happened to be wearing a black top.
Personally I think it's a shame that people feel that music and clothes have to be completely connected.

I think the problem is that a lot of people seem to define themselves, and others by what they listen to. Which is ridiculous. I mean, it's just music! Just because someone listens to GC or Simple Plan or whatever, that doesn't make them any different then anyone else.

i agree with you, which is why i think it's pathetic how some people try to define their being through Good Charolette.
