You bought it cos Silverchair rocks, and deep down in your subconscious, you knew this.

for once i must agree with Nikki's taste Silverchair DOES rock, and they're way better then all the shit the put up with as "baby Nirvana". Although i also found Diorama pretty over-rater. That's critics for you though, they loved it.

I thought Neon Ballroom was the height of Silverchair

Nah, give Diorama some more listens. It had to grow on me, but when it did, oh man. Amazing.

And I like the "for once" precursor.

It didn't take any time for it to grow on me. They said it was going to be different, and I had already been listening to The Greatest View and Too Much Is Not Enough for almost four months before Diorama came out. It might've been a shock for some not prepared though. I loved it, but NB is still better.

Nah, wasn't really a "shock" to me... I just took some warming up to it for some reason. I'm like that with almost all music, though. *shrugs*

for me it was kinda like when Billy Corgan made his Zwan record. Sme just create better when feeling like shit. Not saying i want him to feel shitty but i just thought the music was better then.
