no, let's not sterotype. i have a better idea....show me the difference between a plain clothed "innocent" Iraqi civilian and a plain clothed Iraqi fighter.

if i'm in Iraq right now, and they tell me the "enemy" (whoever the hell that is) is on the other side of that hill over there, and i see a guy comming towards me from the hill, even on foot, i'm shooting first and asking questions later.

Show me the difference between a plain clothed american "innocent" and a plain clothed american "child raper".

You can't lump everyone into one category.

As bad as those 3 deaths are, the amount of collateral damage is frightening.

Thank you.

Bush didn't clarify that.......US isn't going to be out of Iraq on June 30th. June 30th is when we're handing the power over the Iraqii, then it'll be up to them. We're looking at keeping soliders there for security, etc probably for a long ass time.

who's lumping?

if your a parent that wants to protect his/her kid from a child raper, then you don't let anyone you don't know, and a few people you do know, near your kid. keep your kids away from the exploding humvees. that's how you protect your child.

if your a soilder in a humvee in Iraq and you want to stay alive, you don't let anyone come near you. you shoot anyone with a gun, or throws anything at you. oh yeah, and get off the exploding humvees. that's how a soilder protects his ass.

if your an Iraqi national, and you don't want to get killed, don't hold a gun, don't throw anything at a soilder, and just stay the hell away from those exploding humvees as much as possible. that's how an Iraqi National survives.

You have got to be kidding me. You're justifying killing everyone in Iraq because the US is invading? That's ridiculous! There's no logic there! No tactic! Hell, why don't we just nuke them, then?

If you're afraid of American soldiers dying, don't go in.
But then, of course, there is a "reason" for going in; to "liberate" the country.
But if you kill everyone who comes near the invading Americans, you can't really liberate them.

Yes, because I have to have killed before to justify (or not justify) the killing of innocent people.

First off this war is not going on in an open desert, its going on in a city. With humvees constantly patrolling the city it would be pretty hard to keep away from them. No one is gonna buck and and move every time a humvee drives by their house or by a market. Therefore if one explodes innocents are gonna get hurt whether they are holding a gun or not. Secondly your right about the soldiers becomming completely trigger happy. But that in no way justifys 10,000 deaths. Just because a soldier is in a hostile situation doesnt mean everyone is fair game.

I'm constantly hearing reports of 100 civillians dying within a week. Do you think those who died wanted to be around that humvee, or in that gunfight? They were probably just caught within the crossfire. The US is literally trying to squash an ant with a sledge hammer resulting in huge collateral damage. Strafing buildings with helecopters is not exactly accurate. They have no idea who's inside besides a group of militants trying to get away. It is after all a city.

either way war is never clean. You can't justify either side fully, because there will always be collateral destruction and traumatic incidence as long as there is war. Soliders know they can't shoot innocent people, but when their lives are on the line, they will do anything to keep themselves alive. Of course this is in no way justifies the death of 100 civilians a week.

Bottom line: this war should have never happened the way it did, if at all. There were many cleaner ways to correct this problem.

My prediction... if Bush wins the election (which he will because voters are ignorant...) the US will be in Iraq for the next 4 years. Why? because Bush is a "war president."

I guarentee (much like we've seen in the past) that the implementation of an Iraqi govt at the end of June is just a ploy to make it look like Iraq is sovereign and free, when I think it's going to be quite obvious that the USA will be pulling the strings behind the scenes.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
