Reno, Reno, Reno......I know you know A-Rod, you're probably drunk haha

I just heard on fucking CNN Headline News this morning about how rumors are flying today that Maddux is working out a 2 year deal with the Yanks.

and once again
the luxury tax is working
i hope to fuck the NHL goes hard cap NFL style baaaaaaaaaaby.. if not hard cap they actually go with a luxury tax system with TEETH . i mean BIG FUCKING SHARP TEETH THAT TEAR THROUGH FLESH LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW.
fucking MLB
i heard a great proposal, cap at 40 million, for the first 5 million beyond that, 1 dollar spent = 1 dollar in luxury tax, for the next 5 million 1 dollar spent = 2 dollars in tax and for every dollar spent after that the tax = 3 dollars.. so if the rangers kept their current 80 some million payroll:

base payroll = 40 million
payroll from 40-45 million = 5 million in tax
payroll from 45-50 million = 10 million in tax
payroll from 50-80 million = 90 million in tax

total NEW payroll = 185 million dollars w/ 105 being divided amongst all other teams that are below the 40 milllion dollar threshhold

if the yanks do go over 200 million, by the old rules, they would only pay some 15 mil in luxury tax which is NOTHING and theres no incentive for them to NOT spend .. MLB needs a system like the one i mentioned.. lol
i mean its kinda sad when one teams INFIELD gets paid MORE than a LOT OF TEAMS TOTAL payrolls

EINTIRE infield?!

Just A-Rod and Jeter make more than the EINTIRE Brewers club.

It's disgusting.

You know........how can people honestly perceive that Barry Bonds DIDN'T take steroids???

Maybe its me......but I cannot grant him the benefit of the doubt 'n think that he got those pipes naturally. I wish Bonds was still one of them 40/40 guys like Canseco used to be back in his prime.
I'll never get rid of Canseco cards.....he used to be the man.

Speaking of sports cards:

I don't collect anymores, but back in my early teens I did like crazy. I have a couple questions for those of you that did also, or that still do.

A. What's your most prized cards you've got in your collection?
B. Do you have any autographs? Who's?

Posted: 3/2/2004, 5:17 pm
by starseed_10
autographs..... griffey jr., ripken jr., Al kaline, Hank Aaron, travis friman, allan tramell, tony clark. (these are my dad's, but might as well be mine)

plus we probably have a few hockey ones.. nothing great.

rookie cards......
baseball: griffey jr, mcGuire, jeter, garciaparra, a-rod, soriano, juan gonzalez, frank thomas, robby alomar
Hockey: Jagr, Hasek, jovanovski, saku koivu

and a bunch of others i'm sure.. i'll have to go through them later.

as far as inserts and whatnot, i dont have a lot of great ones. some pretty decent stuff though.

i kind of wish i hadn't stopped collecting, it's too expensive to get going again.
