How many albums do you legally own?
551 exactly. I keep an excell chart to keep track of what I have. Oh, that number includes a couple singles (not too many) and boxed sets (a few more than the singles, but still not that many) each counted as one cd even if the box may have 4 or 5 discs in it. Also, there's about 3 that are technically "burned" but they were bought directly from local bands who made the cds by themselves.

Hmm.. I'll have to count again. About 40 maybe? I lost about 20 a few years ago (just the CDs themselves, I still have the cases) and I still haven't gotten around to buying them all back. And there's some I don't listen to and gave to my sister..
I hate burning full CDs, I have to have the actual thing.

Well:
Originally i owned 25 about two years ago. But i was robbed at school and all my cd's taken. I guess it was fate, if you keep everything in one folder...its a going to disappear. So over the last two years i have worked hard and rebuilt my collection, re-buying all my old cd's. I now own a total of 34 cd's. Huray
Of only i didn't have the original 25 stolen i could have a total of 59.
Oh well

I think I have about 200 unburned albums. Not including singles, or free CDs from magazines. I think I have about 3 burned albums.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

That's a good idea. I should start doing that.

Ahh crap, I forgot a box set in my count.
Yeah, definitely need to catalogue my cds.

Nope! I'm the same way.
The only album I've burned is by "The Fine Print", and indie band that's put some songs up on MP3.com, and openly said that everyone should just go download their songs instead of buying the album from MP3.com (not that that would have changed my burning it). It's not available to buy (other than a burned CD from MP3.com), so I just burned it.
Other than that, I only download to try out a band.
All the MP3s on my computer (well, the ones from bands with actual released albums), I've burned myself (at 320kbps).

I own about 150-200 burned cds, but not one of them is commercially available (they are live bootlegs and such). I'm the same way as far as d/ling songws to see if I want to buy the actual albums. If I buy the album, I'll usually keep the mp3...if not, I delete it once I've made up my mind that it's not something I'm into.

The only burned albums I have are ones that my brother's burned for me to listen to before seeing a band live, so I can get familiar with the songs. Since I only see him about once a month and he wants to be listening to the albums before the gig too he can't just lend them to me like he would if we saw each other all the time.

I am old enough to actually remember vinyl. God how many Albums I own?. I probably own 300+ Albums. You use to be able to get an album for $4.99-$7.99. Singles(45rpm's) were actually about $.50. I was talking with my friend the other day,. You use to have to buy pieces to put into to a single to play on the stero.. I have about 200-300 45 singles also. I lived in the record store during my high school years.
As for CD's. I own a few hundred of those also. I have a few burned CD's that my friend made for me. They are mixed songs(most which I all ready have). The only other burn cd's I have are all the bootlegs and rare songs from OLP. I believe in supporting an aritst and go out and purchse their cd's. I jsut hate paying anywhere from $17.99-$21.99 for 1 CD. That is why I love places liek Best Buy and Circuit CD. You can actually buy CD's for under $15.00
Things are so different now adays. SO many kids don't even know what it is like to buy a cd/album./ They download everything. I remeber reading an ariticle awhile back when Korn was palying here. This girl said she was a huge Korn Fan, but hadn't bought any of their records. She said all my CD's are burned. That sort bother me. I mean I know people download songs now-and that is the wave of the future(whether free or per-song) I am disappointed though when someone says they never buy anyone's music and is a big fan. It is true that most of the earnings come from Touring, but a piece deos come from CD sales.
Then again, I am older and remember the days aof getting a new album. When cd's came out people complained that the Album's artwork was lost on a cd because of size. It is a sign of the times. I am sure there will be new ways to get music in 10-15 years time from now.
