OLP and Nirvana for me. They are 2 of my 3 favorite bands ever the 3rd being The Bad Plus, but their first album didn't come out until 2001 so they can't count. Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band are close seconds...well, not that close, but they definatly deserve a mention!

This is hard, but I have it narrowed down to 5. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Soundgarden and OLP

OLP were maybe Canada's biggest band, but by no means were the one of the top bands of the 90's. Maybe on a list of like 20-25, but considering right now they're mostly known for SOT in the states I wouldn't say they were one of the best.

This thread incorporates personal opinion. If people think OLP was one of the best bands of the 90s, so be it. The thread isn't "biggest bands of the 90s".. If it was, sure, OLP probably wouldn't make it but since it's not, OLP can be included.

Yeah it did......I think their debut CD was definitely one of the best of the 90s, top 50 all-time in my mind.
Hell, even Rob's old band "Tabitha's Secret" sounded really good. They did a rough version of 3AM which wasn't that bad.

It's all personal opinion, but I'd have to disagree. If we're looking for the biggest band of the 90s, albums released and sold really have to come into play. 3EB only had one absolutely huge album in the 90s, so that kind of hurts it. But beyond that, I can't say much because I never really got into 3EB.

Days of the New was good
Chains
OLP
Soundgarden, but the band that defined that generation for me was Pearl Jam...
and they've sold fucklaods more than boybands could ever hope. Boybands can have the first half of 2000 but dont overshadow the great music of the 90s by saying thewy owned that era, its blasphemy!
Grunge owned the era, it moved music forward more than any other genre advanced........
Sublime tore it up in the 90s too.

The only thing i really listened to in the 90's were the Spice girls
