The Niagara Local scene isn't exacatly flourishing.
The only bands to come out of the area are Wave (who now play the Welland East Side Marios every Friday) and Alexisonfire, and they just recently signed their record deal. There are a couple fringe bands, but nothing to get too excited about.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

I actually don't think your taste is bad!
I'm sure someone thinks my taste sucks so what can I say?

Right now I am going to say Billy Talent. They have a really solid album. (and its in my CD player now..)

Try "Edwin" or "Black Lab" they're both pretty easy to listen too just like olp. You'd probably love them.

PS i'm not going to suggest IME because i'm not sure whether they're your cup of tea.......now if you like APC you might like their "The quickSilver MEat Dream" album, but other then that....

From Autumn to Ashes
Try 'Cherry Kiss'.

If you want to check out Alexisonfire, go with Pulmonary Archery, 44 CAliber Love Letter or Polaroids of Polar Bears. I'm not sure if you'll like them, but they are worth checking out :)

You might also like Moneen. Try a song like Start Angry ... End Mad.

Without you I'm as good as
