I like the intro to Starseed on the live album, and Steves Birdman solo where it's him just wailing in the single spot with scattered gobo.. mmmmmmmmmmm. So yummy.

I like the chunky chord of Not Enough.. it's so good :)

As for Mike, all of his solo's rock. I miss that guy. he's wicked.

Yah.. I like Raine's solo at the beginning of Superman's Dead on the live album.. HAHAHAHA kidding. way to play one string at a time Raine :)

That's funny, because I was playing around with my guitar tuned Drop-D (like All For You), and I hit a few notes together that sounded familiar. So I played around and figured out that I was playing parts of Oh Canada in the same key as on the Live album. hehe...

Boo hoo, the only famous people from Roseville are those two douche bags from ICP, so you win. I wish I could say Tiny Tim came from here. Noooo, I get to live in the same city as the worst band ever came from. Fuck.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Nikki in the new alternative press they mention a band from collingswood called Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right Be A Start. That is some band name. They are supposed to sound like Cursive and Q and not U who are both awesome. Ever here of the band eh?

Kingston is great for famous people...

The Tragically Hip
David Usher
Dan Akroyd
Doug Gilmore (whose brother lives up the street from me, and who got drunk and tried to run me over in a golf cart)

I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember...

HOLY CRAP!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! THEY WERE MENTIONED IN AP?!?!?!?!??!? Sorry I'm freaking out, but DUDE! Steve Poponi (member of that band... the one from Colls, actually) was the producer of Burn Kate's album "Big Rock Show"! I spent over a week in the studio with that guy while they recorded! That's AWESOME! Steve freaking rules.

Their site's here, if you're curious: http://www.upupdowndown.org/

(Oh yeah, and their name is a code you punch into Contra... that's why it's so long... they're just "Up Up Down Down" for short.)

Actually, that code works on about every Konami game for the NES

Anyway my top 5 solos:

5. If You Believe - made better by the insane screech beforehand

4. All My Friends - the guitar during the part where Raine screams "more! more!" . Takes your freaking breath away.

3. One Man Army - enough said.

2. Automatic Flowers - the solo is the reason I listen to the song. Great freaking solo.

1. Starseed (Steve) - Steve took a fantastic solo and made it umpteen times better. (Forgive me beforehand, Turnerists) Steve makes Starseed so much more interesting than Mike did. God bless Steve Mazur.
