Elijah has been dating Dom (Merry) for I believe almost 2 years now ... just watch the extra features on the 2nd DVD to see them hug and kiss .. they never hid the fact they were dating .. they kiss, hold hands etc in public .. but they were told to keep things quieter until the last LOTR came out in case it affected the ratings.

They were interviewing Dom and he was talking about how it was hard being away from the person he connected with the most on the set while filming the 2nd LOTR since him and Billy (pippen) were secluded from the others. Obviously he's referring to Elijah there. Then later in the interview, Elijah sneaks onto the set and Dom kisses his hand, Elijah giggles like a girl and they hug .. it's all very cute
