Best opening band ever. Well at least that I've ever seen.

... well... unless you count OLP opening for 3DD... or Silverchair opening for Blink-182.

I guess I don't really agree, then, huh?

YOu are too funny Nikki?

But if you put it that way I would say too many bands to choose from: I have seen some people be support acts, then go on to become headliners and huge.

Hell evern Hendrix was an opening act. MY brother saw him open for The Monkees. People don't believe me when I tell them.

I like Greenwheel.Ryan was such a doll. How could you not love him

I will only say this. When they did the VH1 series YOU ROCK!!, they had Melissa Etheridge.background on show quickly. 3 people compete to play at live show with their idol. they have to audition for idol, etc.
with Melissa everyone did BREATHE> I thought it amusing cause this one guy said She writes such great inspirational songs, etc. I do agree. They were talking about Breathe though. I was thinking "some fan you are, she didn't write this"

I don't really care for her version. Maybe if Inever heard GW'sversion or see them sing it almost dozen times(maybe a little less)I would like hers more then I do.

when they first took stage, I thought that the singer was the guy from Alien Ant Farm

Ugh. I can't stand her version of Breathe. And I don't dislike her music... just really can't stand that cover cos the original's far superior. ;)

Agrees somewhat. I wouldn't say I can't stand her version. I just don't really care for it. I love the original way too much also. It's almost like you could hear the pain in Ryan's voice. With Melissa, it is just a song being sung

update Andy posted for anyone who cares:

Hello all, it's Andy from the band. We've had to keep very tight-lipped about our situation for a while now, but I'll give y'all some info.

We've been dropped from Island, which could end up being a good thing if we can get ourselves noticed by another label. We're working with our new drummer Drew, writing some new material and practicing for some shows soon. Doug decided to leave the band to pursue other musical interests, but we're still good friends.

It's not the most sunny news I've posted on here, but it's what we're working with. We've all been writing bad ass music lately and having fun, so we look to be making some noise for y'all soon. Any questions? E-mail me @ andydwiggins@hotmail.com

Thank all of you sooooo much for your paitience. Talk to y'all again soon.

it's posted on the board if anyone wants to go there also. their messageboard is too annoying to link to.

not the best news though :(

 That almost cheered me up from the news.

I'm not at all surprised they were dropped by Island, but it sucks that Doug quit. Boooo.

OK, and the title of this thread being "Green Wheel" REALLY annoys me... so I'm fixing it now.

thanks Nikki, it's been bugging me too!

But ya this is a bummer. Island uses them for "Breathe" and the ability to give that song over the Etheridge, and then drops them... Makes you wonder...

I'm sure they could find another label... Maybe someone could email Stace, and she could let OLP know about this and maybe they'll take them on the road again with hope they'll find another label. Doubtful, but you never know.

That's actually a cool idea. I'll try to remember next time I talk to Stace. Those boys deserve at least some kind of a career... even if it's only as OLP's semi-permanent opening band.

And, I said the same thing about Melissa Ethridge to Melissa when she first told me this news. I freaking hate the music industry.
