I think Hulk, so far, is the best movie of the summer. Why? It manages to actually strive for something that hasn't been seen in the "comic book" movie genre, and Ang Lee manages to actually make a gimmick (multi-screen-on-screen editing) work. The whole "Hulk doesn't look real enough" is just odd to hear, because 1.) the guy's anywhere from 8 to 15 feet tall at a given moment (and can probably grow larger if you got him any angrier -- "Madder Hulk gets, stronger Hulk gets!") and 2.) people would've bitched their heads off had Lou Ferrigno been the Hulk. Even though a lot of people bitched that they wanted him as the Hulk... I could only think "this isn't adapting a TV show, people, Hulk is a friggin' comic book".

Pirates is the most fun of any movie so far this summer. LXG is the worst so far. Of course, next Thursday, I'm seeing Bad Boys II, so I'll find out if it's gonna suck worse. Although it probably won't... it IS a mindless popcorn flick from Michael Bay, and those are always good fun.

S.W.A.T. also looks to be another good dumb popcorn flick. Then there's Freddy vs. Jason, for the horror freaks.

Of course, when the summer season ends, the winter season begins... both connect in September, towards the end of the month. Summer is pretty much becoming a six-month season, with the big finale being Christmas. So many big movies are coming out throughout the fall and winter this year, it's insane.

And, to answer the question... yes. I'm saving up money ($35,000 -- that's living expenses for one year, the actual tuition is $15,000) for the New York Film Academy's Acting For Film course. I'm a major film buff/geek... I'm currently on a hunt for a 35mm film projector and a copy of Gangs of New York on film. :) The movie is just so much better on the big screen.

Hulk was too long too boring and it didn't work for me.
Whenever death may surprise us,

i would like to see the original cut of gangs of new york that miramax (aka harvey weinstein) made scorcese cut down about 20 minutes....ive heard that there's not too many differences, but it makes the movie, which i was rather unimpressed with (except for day-lewis who was phenonmenal), a whole more well rounded, and it gets rid of the rather sketchy voice over in the current version.......maybe on dvd....

back to the summer stuff.....one movie i havent heard anyone mentioning is the Italian Job..which i also thought was really entertaining....i have yet to see the original version with Michael Caine (because every blockbuster i go to is dumb), but I'd put it up as one of my favorites so far this summer.

and the best movie of the summer so far? right now for me its prolly a tie between Finding Nemo and the documentary Spellbound....if any of u have Spellbound showing in your town, u really need to go check out it....its fantastic....it basically chronicles the path of 9 kids to the national spelling bee a few years back, and its just as gripping and exciting as anything out there right now...when i saw it, the audience was clapping really loud when kids got a word right, and "awwwing" on the mistakes....and the editing of it all, was just so superbly done...go see it

Pirates... = amazing, and Keira Knightly is officially the most beautiful girl in the world.

Hulk = boring and too long.

Finding Nemo = good.

I also saw Daddy Day Care (in the drivein w Hulk... thats why), and it was actually decent. Nothing Earth-shattering, as expected, but a quality film. I think those are the only movies I saw this summer.
