I want a laptop for school next year. I don't really need it, but typing notes is so much faster and easier than writing them.

I asked about getting one for my birthday, and my mom said "I don't know, it sounds like it will go over the limit..."
Okay. This is a birthday present. For her only son, mind you. AND it's going to be used for school. SCHOOL! This is the first productive gift I've ever asked for, and I get a semi-"no". I mean, I could see if I asked for something like a $2000 guitar (which is also something I want). But no, I asked for a cheaper USED laptop for school. Nope. Guess I'm just not worth it.

heh.. well Robbo I have the advantage that 4 of the 10 people in my class already have one, and i'm gonna need it for Uni anyway
