That's because you know who he is. Remember, he's got the scruffy look going on right now. A lot of girls wouldn't even give him so much as a second glance (no offence Alan, I'm in the same boat) because he's not the perfect 6'3", muscular, clean-cut jock. Either the girls on here are a hell of a lot better than the rest of the girls out there (which I don't doubt for a minute), or you're a bunch of filthy rotten liars

.

You're exactly right Rob. In public, most girls don't even notice me. Apparently the long hair, sideburns, and the unusual way I dress just makes their holes dry up and shut or something, because they just don't like me.

You really do have to be a pretty boy to get attention from girls, and that just isn't what I am, and it sucks.

Exactly. I mean, sure, we can say (in both of these threads) that it's brains and personality that we want, but we need something to get our attention. You have to get to know someone before you can judge their brains and personality, and you don't just walk up to everyone you see and get to know them. That's why looks are important in the old dating game.
That's also why people like myself have to know a person long before dating them, so they know what I'm like, and can judge me based on more than just looks.

Hey, if you're familiar with any bars/clubs? We used to own Stages and The Palace! Not sure if they are around anymore. And my aunt/uncle used to own the Silverado Saloon but it burnt down a few months ago

Yeah, I knew the Saloon. That sucked that it burned down.
I know Stages is still around, but I'm not sure about The Palace.
The Plaza's still there, too. (for those of you that don't know [which is just about everyone] The Plaza is a strip club

)

which Rob frequents.

anyways, I'd thought I'd give my two cents. personality (big part of that a sense of humor) is what gets me first. the guy I think I'm in love with, when I first met him, I didn't think he was much of anything. I liked him as a friend, but I wasn't attracted to him. now that I know his personality I am physically attracted to him. he's cute, 6'1" but he's not ripped or anything. one of my friends aptly said, "he's like a teddybear, you just want to hug him."

You notice a guy for his looks first. It's that simple. Personality isn't something that people wear. You have to be attracted to the guy to talk to him in the first place.

not really. he was in my Englilsh class and my friend Anna introduced me to him. I probably wouldn't have talked to him in the beginning if she didn't.
