Well, if the person refuses to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, why do they live in this country? Why don't the people like Aerin move out of America and try to find a country that doesn't have one? I bet she'd have fun living in an extremely poor African country where she'd have to be completely self-reliant, and probably fail miserably, than living here and having to stand during a thrity second long speech.

Yes, all you have to do is stand up during it. I mean, you don't have to say it, and you don't have to believe it, but just stand up. It solves so many pointless problems. If you want to make a statement about it, then don't face the flag or something, but odds are you have no reason to turn from the flag, because all of us Americans on this message board have easy fucking lives. Oh my God, you're telling me that STANDING UP means the world is going to hell? Going to war unjustly could end the world, that's understandable. Having an incompitent president could do the same thing. Not reciting a speech with the rest of your class in grade school does not end the world.
