I have a guitar and I've known how to read music since I was seven, but it's still really hard. the chord positions are so much different than actually reading music. Reading fake tab is practically impossible for me.
And if you don't play every day, it's probably going to be hard to remember everything. I can play about three chords without thinking now.

i think my guitar teacher over simplifies music for me, so if i ever did try to read music, i wouldnt get it. he just gives me a peice of paper with where to put my fingers. he never really did teach me strumming patterns, but i kinda figured that out on my own. right now im starting fingerpicking, and him teaching me that really helps. i probably could figure it out, but i think its more important to learn it right, so i have the base to move on to harder songs.

It might not even be one of those. Depends on what I can get for a semi good price. It will definately be a LP (not Epiphone) though.
I saw a friging awesome silver one in the local store a while ago, and it had some "finish flaws" [barely noticable], so it was a discounted price. But I had no money at the time. I've avoided going over there since because I know I can't buy what I like. Yet.
