No .. Mike was no fun

Last time I checked, Mike WAS fun, he was the shit. Mike may not "go off" as much as Steve, but he sure as fuck interacted with the fans more than anybody else.

That's fine if you thought he was fun .. but I thought he was boring as hell to watch .. just my opinion

I think OLP should coutn their blessings as to how lucky they were to get Steve, he is just an absolutely phenomenal guitarist. The way he plays Naveed just brings me to tears.

Taking nothing away from Mike, they both offer different things. Mike was always bound to put out a nice punch line, a funny guy, a ridiculously smart guy, and a bit on the quiet side. I have never seen an interview with Steve, but just his playing style seems to me that he is a great, fun guy who naturally loves the music and the way he interprets it with his ridiculous guitar work.

I agree that they're both excellent guitarists. Dang, I wish I knew how to play guitar. :(

Thanks for the info, everyone! :)

when i saw them during the SM machine tour Raine during birdman/carnival banged the drum really hard during the build up then threw himself on the ground and started freaking out. I think it was much more fun to watch then the usual molestation.

and OLP should not be lucky to have Steve since it was most likely planned but at least they chose a decent guitarist.

If you must know Steve got into OLP through a mutual friend. Steve and this guy played in LA together. He heard OLP needed a guitarist and told him about it. Steve got an auditution adn the rest is history. It was a mutual friend who hooked them up.
