has anyone ever seen Scariest Places on Earth? 10:00 pm every saturday on YTV, it's spooky as hell

Scariest thing I have ever seen: there's these miles and miles of catacombs underneath Paris, right? From the age of the black plague. Millions of people were buried down there in these huge vaults of bones and skulls, and no one is entirely sure how far down they go. Expeditions have been lead, but have always had to turn back after going a mile or so beneath the city because they'll run out of batteries for their lights.

So there was this video tape found in a river in Paris, right? It was of this guy who was leading his own, one man expedition into the catacombs. He enters them from this sewer pipe under a bridge and just goes. The tape lasts for hours upon hours, with the guy never once making a sound, just going deeper, with bones all over the place. Several times he reaches a dead end, only to go through a hole in the ground into yet more passages. He stands on fields of bones. Big puddles of water start showing up, and the guy starts moving faster, for no apparent reason. He doesn't make any sound, and doesn't seem to see or hear anything, he just starts going faster down these passages. Then he drops the camera and runs full tilt away from it, and that's it :freak:

And, as would be expected, he was never heard from again

I think that would be enough to drive anyone crazy. I bet he's still down there, eating rats that he spears with a bone point he made from one of those skeletons, and muttering about the apocalypse.

I always watch those kind of shows and end up creeping myself out for weeks. I'm such a baby. In elementary school, every Halloween we'd watch a slideshow of the headless horseman and that used to scare the shit outta me.

This is what I remember of the bunnyman bit:

Like all good stories, it starts with an insane asylum, where some particular maniac escapes into the woods near a small town. As the search for him mounts, the mutilated corpses of rabbits are found all over the woods and.. shit, I can't remember much more. The ghost of this guy supposedly appears by this tunnel that's covered in really bizarre graffiti ("bunnyman lives" etc.), where people have been mysteriously killed over the years :freak:

Think Frank from DD, only much more homicidal

Scary stories from around me... well, instead of telling them myself, just check this out:

http://www.weirdnj.com

I posted that link in another thread a few weeks ago, but it was majorly off-topic... unlike in here.

And, as you can see from that site (or my info ) I'm in New Jersey... and the Jersey Devil apparently was right down the block from my house at one point, according to the legend.

And, that Paris story is majorly messed up. The guy was an idiot to go down there by himself, anyway, though.

\Pa"lo blan"co\ [Sp. blanco white.] (a) A western American hackberry (Celtis reticulata), having light-colored bark. (b) A Mexican mimosaceous tree (Lysiloma candida), the bark of which is used in tanning.

if you want another tie with superstitions about trees, go back to Wicca like Joey said.

"Elder be the Lady's tree
Burn it not or cursed ye'll be"

interestingly enough, elder is closely related to palo blanco and shares a similar type of berry.

sweet, i should post a pic of the Palo Blanco. But right now, there is an owl right outside of my window, and there is another freaked out story about a white owl out in these parts, i din't know exactly the story but it's kind of lame.
