I made a chess set out of clay a while back. I think it came out well.

Notice that besides the different colors, I made the blue set round and the white set square.
Note: I didn't make the chess board.

I was planning on it. I'm not sure how yet. I was thinking about just buying a big chuck of wood and carve the lines out, you know, so that they are engraved and paint the squares blue and white (to match the pieces)
