I cant stand how every performer recieves an award directly after they perform.
i would also like to comment that john mayer is a bad lip singer and the smashing pumpkins version of landslide is 10X better then the dixie chicks version.
i love watching corporate music suck
Buddy, you mixed up "better" with "worse".
Look, I don't hate the pumpkins, me and my friends are going to cover "galapogos" at our schools Battle of Bands. But hey that version sucked. The Dixie Chicks one was so catchy and heartfealt.
I heard that Stevie Nicks favorite band right now, is DC.
Not the pumpkins.

Umm... how about the Fleetwood Mac version??
Although, I'm probably the only one here who likes that one the most. *grew up with Fleetwood Mac* Hehehe, my dad loves them. It's cute, when that live album of theirs was broadcast on tv a few years ago, I was in my room with a friend, and we just heard something REALLY loud coming from downstairs... we looked at eachother like, "what the heck is that!??!"... we go downstairs, and my dad had it turned up so loud you could still hear it from the very back of our backyard (my mom actually went out to check).
Anyway, the Grammys. Ugh. I went to my boyfriend's house, and we watched them there with a few friends. Positively awful (as I figured they'd be... I wasn't even gonna watch them). Truly a display of how shallow and pathetic the music scene is right now. It's depressing.
I knew Avril wasn't gonna win anything. They always nominate all of the popular groups/acts of the moment, but never actually give them the awards... they save those for the overrated critic favorites, and old washed out artists that used to be good.
Norah Jones didn't deserve all of those awards, I'm sorry. I've never heard the album, and I don't dislike the single THAT much, but it really upset me when they made it known that she didn't write all of those songs herself (I didn't know that until watching the Grammys). The only reason she even got the opportunity to record that album is because she's Ravi Shankar's daughter.
There were only two performances the entire night that were actually worth watching, in my opinion. Coldplay and the Clash tribute by Bruce Springstein, Dave Grohl, Elvis Costello, Steven Van Zandt, Tony Kanal, and whoever that drummer was. Oh, and I bet I'd add No Doubt to that had I not MISSED their performance.
Oh well. Oh, and Vanessa Carlton sounded good, too. Oh, and Bruce Sprinstein and the E Street Band sounded good, as usual, too. Everyone else I either don't like in the first place, and/or was off key. I think there were problems with the monitors or something, cos just about everyone was off key. Oh, I missed Simon & Garfunkel, too, darn it.
Ugh, I hate awards shows. Why in god's name do I always watch them? They only piss me off and depress me. *sigh* Oh well.

I've heard Norah Jones and shes ok but as Nikki said i didn't think she deserved ALL of them. I loved The Clash tribute mostly cause Tony performed .hehe. I can't really comment on Avril cause i decided to space out during her performance cause i saw her in an interview before the show and it made me sick so i couldn't even pay attention during her performance. *sigh* And Faith Hill sounded really bad (lots of them sounded off key) and looked really weird. And yea the grammys as usual didn't impress me.
Did Pink win any? I know she was nominated for 2 .. I don't watch the award shows ..
