Another cool unknown band:

Trace Fury http://www.tracefury.com

Here's their bio if your interested:

Trace Fury is one of Philadelphia's newest and most promising original acts. Formed in the summer of 2000, this group is quickly gaining popularity with their experimental blend of numerous musical styles such as Classical, Rock, Jazz, and Funk. Their strongest asset is their overwhelmingly powerful live performance that not only impresses audiences, but also surprises them with dynamic shifts in time signatures and styles while maintaining a unique sound that is impossible to duplicate.

The group is fronted by Chrissy Loftus and Nina Prendergast whose dueling vocals and keyboard arrangements prove that these talented young women were meant to play side by side. Their emotional harmonies can be described as nothing less than angelic, while their instrumental performances blend in both soothing and chaotic fashions depending on the mood of the particular song. Saxophonist Mark Gallagher adds an array of swirling melodies mixed with futuristic effects, while bassist David Kasper and drummer/percussionist Matt Buckley hold down the foundation as a complex yet aggressive rhythm section.

Each member of Trace Fury adds their own individual edge to the mosaic that makes up this act with influences ranging from Tori Amos, Portishead and Bjork, to other groups like Mr. Bungle and Morphine, as well as numerous classical composers and jazz greats. This variety surfaces in every live performance by the way the band changes the mood of the room from song to song while never losing their original intensity.

Chrissy and Nina first started writing music together in high school, using guitar and intricate vocal harmonies. Chrissy, a student of classical voice, and Nina, a classical pianist and composer, put up ads for just about any musician with an open-mind, hoping to form a group using two keyboards as the front instruments. They soon picked up Dave, an experienced bassist, and Mark, an accomplished saxophonist. Both musicians were willing to try something different- something not heard yet in the Philadelphia music scene. In the summer of 2000, just a few months after meeting, the group picked up Matt, an exceptionally talented drummer, composer, and recording engineer, to complete Trace Fury.

In the little time they have been together, Trace Fury has made it onto the cover of "Origivation Music Magazine" (which they were also the featured band interviewed), captured Budzilla Production's "Band of the Month", and landed a Y100 radio gig (Philadelphia's Alternative Rock Station) for February of 2002. The band is making a name for themselves around Pennsylvania and plans to expand into other areas with the recent release of their debut album "Ankle Deep"

Jump Little Children. Those of you that are into the Ours/Jeff Buckley sound must check this band out. Vertigo is a brilliant but hard-to-find album. Everyone go download the song "Mother's Eyes" now.

i know a really cool band that no one seems to know about

it's our lady peace (1994-2001)
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

Wayne - kind of countryish rock, it's something new that I never heard before. Even if you don't like country, you wouldNT be turned off by their music. It's original and they're incredible talented.

"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good
