your own ghost wrote:1. they're definately not on an independant label. i just heard their single on the bear. [ top 40 rock radio station ]
2. i don't know if they can be called the best thing to come out of britian since oasis, because badly drawn boy is from britain and he's one of the most relevant artists in music today.

1. they aren't an indie band now, but they only just got signed. Many of the songs on the album were around long before they were signed.

2. this is just one of the things that has been said about them. It may be a bit of an exageration now, but I could definately see them becoming huge in the future.

Also although their name does start with "the" that doesn't make them 'just another "the" band'. They've been called 'the music' for about seven or eight years. By the same logic you could call the watchmen or the tragically hip just another "the" band.

i dunno, like i said, i just heard take the long road and walk it on the bear and i thought it pretty much sounded like 80's revival raw rock. raw rock = "the" bands

and i don't think they've been called the music for 7 or 8 years since they're all about 20 years old. at the least the white stripes and the hives predate them. the same is not true of the hip or watchmen.

the band started when they were about 11 or 12, and to me they sound nothing like those revival rock bands.

Just bought the CD for $10.99. Boo yeah!

I'm loving it. It's different from what I usually listen to. Much less lyric based. It's all got such a great beat. I can't stay still while listening to it.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.
