I'd rather listen to Kelly than Avril, but they're both pretty bad IMO.

A girl in my art class gets in fights with me all the time about stuff like this. She's naive. She doesn't understand the words "studio enhanced".

I've seen Avril live .. no studio there .. the girl does have talent though people just can't seem to admit that .. as for Kelly, I've only heard the one song she ripped off of Madonna and it wasn't a good song when Madonna did it and it's still not a good song with Kelly doing it :neutral:

It's the trendy thing all of a sudden. If you're the sondaughtersisterbrotheruncleauntneicenephew of a popular musician, or you're on a popular TV show on the disney channel, chances are that everntually you'll get a record deal.

As for Matthew good, truthfully i've heard of him but thats all i've never really heard his music or of him bashing other people. I hear it bout Kelly ona daily basis. Shes sort of becoming JLo to me being shes so all over the palce and talked bout i just want her to go away :neutral:

I dont think shes good at all, period. Her Dad is Ozzy and thats why she's famous. Without him, there's absolutely no way ever in this world she'd get anywhere. She's cool, just musically isnt good.

I like Kelly Osbourne. Yeah, her voice isn't the greatest, but it's not that bad. Her cover of "Papa Don't Preach" is a million times better than the original. I really like it. "Shut Up", I could live without, but it's better than a lot of the other crap that makes it on MTV. And, as a person, I think she seems extremely cool. She doesn't take crap from anyone and she speaks her mind. What's wrong with that? And she's got really cool personal style. Plus, I think she's gorgeous. I like that someone who's not "perfect" and has a little extra weight is making it in the music industry. It's about frigging time. Just because "The Osbournes" is so trendy doesn't mean it's bad. As a family, they're really cool. So much love there, it's beautiful. Even if they are a bit... erm... quirky. :lol:

So yeah. That's just me, though. *shrugs*

Clumsyfish, I heard Avril live on this show on MTV...and I thought she sounded HORRIBLE for someone who sounds so good in her regular songs.

And I swear to fucking god if I hear Sk8ter Boi again (I can't believe I just fucing typed that) I will RIP MY OWN LUNGS OUT and huck them at someone.

oh my god... I can't believe this is even a debate. Kelly sucks, bottom line. And how could you say that Kelly's version of Papa Don't Preach is better?!!?!? She didn't do anything. She sang into a singing machine to make her voice seem halfway listenable, used words already written and had a band play a horrible rendition of the music sheets. I'm at a loss for words. Style? She looks like a circus clown. Personality? If your boss was as much an asshole you wouldn't think HE/SHE was cool. Somehow it is cool when kids are pricks. Not to mention, truckers have a cleaner vocabulary.

kelly osbourne is not a bad singer, per se. her voice is fine, if not good, but she doesn't know how to sing with music.

as for avril lavigne, annoying as that punk chic bullshit she does is, that doesn't change the fact that she is talented. otherwise she wouldn't be doing what she is doing. a&r guys from record lables don't just wonder around downtown offering deals to people, you know.

I dont think Avril is horrible either. She's definitely got talent, even some lyrical talent (ok, not in Sk8ter Boi), but in some others. I dont like her whole act tho, shes NOT punk no matter how hard she tries to dress it and shes kind of annoying. That tie thing she wears everyday is a little stupid as well. Shes still got talent tho IMO.

Ahree: Watching Avril perform live on MTV and actually being there and hearing her perform live are two very different things. I mean let's face it, OLP have sounded like crap on many tv shows as well but being there and hearing them live is different. Tv shows don't have good sound systems. She sounded amazing when I saw her, a lot of people thought the same thing after actually hearing her sing live. She does have a beautiful voice, a shitty attitude but most bands these days have attitude. Nikki you're not alone on liking Kelly .. musically I'm not a fan but I've only heard her sing one song but as a person I think she's cool. In interviews she seems like a great person .. I mean come on, her dad is Ozzy and if you've ever seen The Osbournes, the family has some issues but is generally a great family. And Corey there's always going to be a debate when it comes to bands and music because people have different tastes and opinions .. when you create a thread about music expect some debate. Whether you yourself like the band or not, somebody out there will. :nod:

First off, I'd much rather listen to Avril Lavigne than Kelly Osborne, even though they are both bitches (Chris Roe, the singer of The Ataris met her and told me how she blew him off because she was too big to talk to him). Next, I would take the Madonna version of Papa Don't Preach over Kelly's version. Maybe it's the fact Madonna is from Detroit, but I think it's better. Anyway, Madonna's version had a point behind it, and Kelly's didn't, unless she got knocked up and we didn't know about it. Kelly really doesn't have any discernable talent and her voice makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I can't stand hearing her voice, and I can't believe she has any room to talk bad about Billy Corgan. Billy might not have the best voice either, but at least he got big through talent, and not using a TV show to throw yourself into the limelight.

I saw Kelly Osbourne perform at the MTV thing a few months ago, and I know she didn't sing. She probably has a decent voice, about as good as anyone's is nowadays, but my god, she has absolutely no stage presence. She's so boring. All she did was just hop back and forth. Bluh, that whole "I'm a bitch, nobody can tell me what to do" attitude is just getting so old.

Difference between Matt Good and Kelly Osbourne: Matt Good has talent. He can back it up if he says he's better than so-and-so band. Kelly Osbourne's dad gave voice to heavy metal; and thus, she's allowed to make a CD, and then bitch about other artists, especially ones that actually have talent.

You see, all the people she's dissed have some inner talent and potential: from Avril and Pink (she says they're "pop" -- well FUCKING DUH, no one said it wasn't, and guess what? So are YOU! So's Elton John! Elvis! The Beatles!) to any of "The" bands, they all have potential. Kelly doesn't. She's the most famous person of her family on the show, and that's why she has this CD. Because it's a great gimmick. Jack doesn't have that factor to make him be some huge star, and besides, he isn't looking for fame that much; Ozzy already is God; Sharon knows what she's good at. Leaving Kelly, who's young, popular among the 11-15 demographic, and considered "cool". She's almost an anti-Britney Britney, essentially.

All the pop icons lip sync nowadays......Christina hoe does it, Britney does it, hell I even saw and could TELL that J-Lo did it. You can't SERIOUSLY mean to tell me that J-Lo does some of that funky fast moving shit on stage yet can keep her singing voice perfectly straight? Highly doubtful...

Kelly is getting stardom simply for her name. Plus, now that the Osbournes are a house-hold name not simply known for a former crackhead that almost choked his wife to death at one point...

I seriously think Kelly should continue her musical career.....I just wanna dispose myself all over the place at the fact that shes getting so much attention.

At least Jack is semi down to earth. He admits that he loves doin the show cuz hell...I think it would be fun "SOMETIMES" too. Plus.....he's being more realistic and wants to make a living behind the scenes.

I wouldn't mind being a talent scout for Epic like he is......

Yes, Jack is the only tolerable one of the two. If not for Jack, Kelly wouldn't have a recording contract, now would she? Jack made sure to say that repeatedly in the first episode. But Kelly still thinks she is so damn special because her voice filter gets her money that she will end up spending on cocaine in three years.
