I was being sarcastic.

Yet another failed attempt at being witty. *Hangs head in shame*

Why don't you do a composer? It's so amazingly easy to find reliable information on composers, and chances are others in your class won't pick them cause they're not "cool" enough. Trust me, there's a lot to be said for musicians whose music is still revered and played centuries after it was originally written. I'm taking a music analysis class in university this term, and oh my god. The intricacies within someone like Bach's music is mindboggling. Even the greatest musical historians today haven't been able to figure out how he knew all the different chord structures and polyphonic textures, and this man died over 200 years ago.

Anyway sorry, got on a little tangent there :P

how 'bout John Williams? oh, or U2, either Bono or the Edge would work well.

What has OLP done that actually caused any implications on the music culture?

They founded the Summersault Tour, that's about it I guess.

If I get an assignment like this, I would choose Matthew Good. True that the assignment specifically asked for a figure that considered influencial to the industry, but I just won't be too interested in researching for the most well-known artists. That's just me, I would rather work on an assignment that would satisfy myself, not follow the expectations of the instructors and get decent marks.

I was just reading the Throw Away The Radio forum, maybe you can do 30 Seconds To Mars.
