pain?

that is an amazing lyrical hook. that song has a very good melody and hooks a plenty.

yeah. i admit the lyrics are juvenile but she is only 17. she could have written them a year or more ago for all we know.

i'm not gonna stick up for her image and whatnot, but she does have some good songs.

ie. things i'll never say which is better than most of gravity.

I think we're all missing the point here.
She named a song "Sk8er Boi," in cold blood. She is actually attempting to bring "l33t sp34k" to the mainstream. If by some gross act of negligence that somehow isn't specifically forbidden by the Geneva convention it should be.

Her song's are standard pop songs (read: they suck a big one) and she, as a person, is annoying. I've seen interviews. Ech.

Shoot her into the ocean. Take bets on how many times she skips.

A couple questions:

For all the people who hate Avril Lavigne and wish to mutilate her in various ways, I would be interested to know why you guys hate her so much.

Also, how could her tie possibly be construed as skanky?

Furthermore I would like to say a few things in her defense. For those people who find her personally annoying: finding her annoying is fine. However, I think that you should at least acknowledge the fact that she does, in fact, act like herself, rather than how record companies expect her to act. So if you find her annoying, that's fine, but give her some credit for being an individual amongst an industry of increasing conformity.

I would also like to point out to the people that hate Avril a couple things. First, she writes her own material. So if you hate her songs that is fine as long as you acknowledge that they are, in fact, her songs. Also, she does actually play an instrument. I believe in a different topic some time ago about Avril Lavigne someone pointed out that in the video for 'Complicated' she plays the guitar, while she only sings in live performances. Well for you I'll say that in OLP's video for 'Naveed' Raine plays the guitar, but he doesn't live. 'Nough said.

Moreover, I would like to express my belief that Avril Lavigne is a beautiful young woman, a talented song-writer, and has an amazing voice.

In Avril's defense cuz I do really like her .. I think she's doing an amazing job considering she's only 17. She does write her own lyrics and she does play guitar, but not live since as of right now I don't think she's comfortable enough to play it live .. she has a beautiful voice, she sounds excellent live and she's being true to herself. She dresses like she wants to dress, she acts like she wants to act .. some people call that bitchy .. yes she has an attitude but in the music world you NEED that or you're gonna get eaten alive ..

In the words of Avril: "I'm just coming out and I'm going to clearly be myself. I write what I feel, I never worry what others think, " Avril avows. "I'm gonna dress what's me, I'm gonna act what's me and I'm gonna sing what's me."

And that's what she's doing ...

Yeah he does.

During the show I went to last summer, he played the guitar for most of the show.

That's because MTV labelled her as 'Punk' and that label has stuck with ... MTV destroys bands though ..

Which is why you make your own assumptions and opinions about bands and don't let the media influence you, especially not MTV ..

It shouldn't matter whether she looks punk or not ... I like her voice and the music she makes ...

that video is actually quite intriguing. There alot of things going on in the video unlike some videos like lets say SOT. And she looks good in the video so I guess that helps things from a guys point of view.

I also add that I have never seen Raine play guitar during Naveed but I have never seen the video so I cant say if he plays it in the video. As dar as I know the only songs he plays guitar live on are Supermans Dead and IAH? and maybe Clumsy but my mind is blank.

He plays guitar in the video for Naveed, but I don't recall him ever playing it live. I also remember him playing the guitar for In Repair for a TV special.
