Lyrically, AYS? Blister (like you didn't think I would say that) The Wonderful Future, and Potato Girl get to me.

Overall, The Wonderful Future and Waited do it for me. They're spectacular with the lyrics and the music and the way Raine sings could make me smile or break down and cry. Those songs are amazing.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

If I had to break down the most powerful songs (not necessarily touching or moving, just plain ol' powerful) off of each album, it would go something like this:

1) Naveed -- Naveed
2) Clumsy -- Superman's Dead OR Story of 100 Aisles (too tough to call)
3) Happiness -- Waited
4) Spiritual Machines -- All My Friends
5) Gravity -- Not Enough

Most moving song would be a little different:

1) Naveed -- Hope
2) Clumsy -- 4am
3) Happiness -- Thief
4) Spiritual Machines -- The Wonderful Future
5) Gravity -- Bring Back The Sun

OVERALL:

Most Powerful OLP song: Naveed
Most Moving OLP song (and highly underrated): Hope

i think SD is their most powerful song.

that song is fucking great. it was such a big hit for them also which always adds to it for me when they play it live and everyone in the whole arena/venue/whatever knows all the words and is on their feet.

i will never forget the Blister tour in Edmonton when they closed the show with SD and the whole crowd of 5000+ was chanting "superman".

that was my third favorite live-OLP moment.

I voted yes, but it really depends on what you consider makes a song powerful. In my opinion, its not the tempo and/or loudness of it, but the lyrical content, and i believe NOT ENOUGH has plenty of deep and powerful lyrics that make your heart go thud, even w/o a hard rockin edge... that and the guitar riffs make me wanna explode...

but you know what? Now that I think of it, All for You does the same thing.. those are the two most powerful songs on the album i believe...
Things aren't always as they seem..

Most powerful for me:
1. Clumsy(determined that it is my favorite song EVER..very difficult to pick one :P )
2. Naveed(very close)
3. Theif
4. 4am(haha...4...4am..eek)
5. Blister(cause its so true. the world IS a blister...)
Most musically powerful:
SOMEWHERE OUT THERE-the way it builds up to the climax...i love it.
All for you and Not Enough roxor my boxors with the rock style and guitar riffs and such.

hmm...is it just me, or do a lot of the powerful songs come from one emotion...depression?
Whats a signature?

It all seems so contaigious, not to be yourself and faceless in a song that has no soul.

And maybe you just need, a friend, as clumsy as youve been...

Rigger I totally agree with ya.

Oh and Yourjesus, I was at that concert! It was so long ago it was all such a blur...I remember sterophonics opened up...they stank! I remember a song about a lesbian? or something?
Um, I remmeber lots of lighters, Duncan stepping forward/backward the whole night and Jeremy with a huge fro. Haha...such a dork!

Remember when Raine got all crazy and went into a knealing position? And they just played and played? And how Raine slowly leant into the crowd and they carried him around while he sang..." This woman, is god"

At that time I wasn't a big fan of OLP, I only owned Clumsy and my friend was in total awe of them and rekindled my love for that band. Him and I had one hell of a great experience.
They better get back to Edmonton. Or I will cry...
