I can't stand the Vines. They sound like a cross of Silverchair and Nirvana. The music is loud and obnoxious. Gravity has been in my player since it came out.

You are wrong. If you'd heard the album you would realise that not every song sounds like Get Free. They are extremely versatile.

I've heard 4 songs off Highly Evolved and I think that it is borderline music. There's nothing that great about it and I don't like listening to singers scream lyrics.

There are twelve tracks on Highly Evolved. The lyrics are "screamed" on approximately 1/3 of those tracks. Download "Autumn Shade" if you don't believe me - it sounds like the Beach Boys (which has to be a good thing).
