Julias sounds pretty normal to me inmany of the songs, just as normal as Raine does in my opinion. Its just to make it sound better, they do it with instruments why not do it for vocals?

Listen to "Fine Art of Falling Apart" by Matthew Good, then you'll know not every vocalist needs alteration on their recordings.

Quite.

Matt Good is pretty good when it comes to this stuff but there are some songs off of Audio Of Being that seem to me like they made his voice soun a lil more muffled then normal

but whats wrong with doing this anyways? i see nothing wrong with it, it makes songs sound different... it would be annoying if a singer just kept doing the same things with his voice over and over again

Steph, I thought we went over the differences between the bands. God, do you not listen to me?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I am neutral with the White Stripes, but why do you think they are so bad? They sound decent to me...

And, also, there are plenty of bands that could, and do, suck worse than the White Stripes. Just go watch some MTV, hope for the rare occasion that they play videos, and you'll see what I mean.

I borrowed the White Stripes CD from my brother and I only like 2 songs... It's an acquired taste, I s'pose.

I am also still confused on the difference between the White Stripes, The Hives, The Vines, and The Strokes. My goal is to sort them all out by the end of the summer but I'm not doing too good. Isn't The Hives the Swedish one? I'm so lost.... 8O

The Hives are from Sweden. They kinda wear on you, all their songs are really similar.

The Vines are from Australia. They are more rock than the others, straightforward rock.

The White Stripes just sound a lot different. I really like them. Their stuff sounds more vintage, and his voice is pretty easy to pick out. Plus, the guitar has a pretty trademark sound to it.

The Strokes are sorta different too. They are more like 70s rock or something, lol. Its faster, and always ends really abruptly. All their songs have a similar beat I've noticed...........but I also like them a lot.

I guess the more you listen to them the more you can tell them apart?
