By the way, if anyone is curious, here is the interviewers thoughts on the album:

i'm not sure about paper moon now. the chorus is catchy as hell but otherwise i don't know... the solo kind of bored me... personally i liked dreamland a lot better.

i hope when the cd comes out the perfect quality will give everything a ton of more soul than it already has.
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.

I'm kinda with you ivewaited, but only because of Raine's lacking voice. The song is great but lacks that magic I KNOW OLP FOR, the vocals. That would have made this song absolutely breathtaking. But still, the song is still amazing.

I was pretty nervous about Raine's production on these songs, but I've been very impressed so far.

I don't felt this strongly about an OLP song since The Wonderful Future. Angels/Losing/Sleep almost gave that feeling, but couldn't quite get there. If the band didn't bring this up as the stand-out track, I can't wait to hear the others.

I can't stop listening to it  This is going to sound amazing live.

She feels faithless, she feels earthless
She wants to run
She's strugglin' for purpose
I tell her hang in you know it's worth it

The song's great and all but after several listens I feel that it ends too abruptly and there's not enough of the chorus. I think Raine should have probably added a few chants of "we can put out our candles under that paper moon" toward the end. And I think it would have been better to end the song on a whisper version of that chorus instead of the first verse like we have. But hey, minor complaints. Just makes it feel incomplete, to me, anyway.

Yes, yes, yes, exactly! I want more of the candles repeat, it's like it should be there. But honestly, they probably considered that they just wanted it to be a little less linear.

Yeah, and I dunno why they seemed to be too scared to go over the 4 minute mark with these songs, I mean there are only 10 on the album, for god sake please make them long! Damn, 38 minutes isn't going to do 4 years justice! I'd have loved this song to be like 5 minutes... another Naveed. Maybe for this song they left it a little too much "raw" and didn't do enough polishing (haha, the exact opposite of what I expected after AYD).

It's probably longer than 38 minutes now with replacing The Right Stuff. Or shorter! But, probably longer. Plus we have The Right Stuff as a bonus with another. That makes the CD longer by 2 songs.

This is a great song but enough with this 'OLP is back' talk. Quit twisting in the wind with every clip released.

OLP didn't go anywhere. Like Leafs playoff hockey, the McRib, and Donald Trump's hairline they have been a constant since last century.

Strong Alibi wrote:Man this is a great song!!! But damn it do I ever miss how Raine's voice used to be an instrument in of itself.... he really could have done so much more with the "at all, at all, at all" part with some crazy falsetto screams. Oh well, still awesome.

As awesome as those are... I don't know how well they would have fit the song though.

So probably the closest OLP song I can compare this one with is Are You Sad... but that one is 5:09... damn it why is Paper Moon so short? I'm sorry but this really frustrates me. It's not like they were in a rush? It actually makes me emotionally angry because I LOVE the song so much, but I feel that it's forced to end and is rushed; it's incomplete. I'd rather hate it, to be honest. Arrghh!

...maybe this is just a short single version.. ?

does anyone else think raines vocals sound really loud and too "present"?

well not present, i don't know how to explain it but a lot of reverby and rough?
and if i don't make it know that i've loved you all along.

Wow, this was a nice surprise to wake up to! :)

Going along with what I said about the clip - It's a truly beautiful song and evidence that Our Lady Peace are back on the right track. And whilst it feels like could go longer at the end I think its better to be short and sweet than to be long and drag on. Plus i don't think OLP have ever done a song with this structure before so it's new territory.

Oh my god...the song is FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!! OLP IS BACK!!!!!!
Hovewer i agree with you Strong Alibi the song it's forced to end...the part after the solo guitar(amazing) it stop forcely....but if raine told that the song is six minute long i think that this is a preview...

Oh, no, Teedus said this:

It's 3:54, not six. I don't get why it says six. Time slows down on the internet.

There was a technical problem with the MP3 we ripped so it was saying 6 min when it was really just 3:54
