'Cause, as fun as new wave dance music might be, I just don't think that sound would suit them. Ditto for the hip hop.

Sure, you can put hints of the past in it, but one of the reasons I like OLP is because each of their CDs has a pretty different feel from the rest.
You can't really compare Naveed to Clumsy, Clumsy to Happiness, etc.
I want something new. Out with the old. If they were to write great songs that sound like their old stuff, they would have written them already.
Although Pearl Jam was the same way and they recently went somewhat back to their roots and it turned out great, so maybe I'm wrong here.
